    How do I change my password without knowing my security question?

    So I fell for that link scam where there's a link in chat and you click on it and it brings you to the fake forum log in screen that steals your info after you put it in. (Yeah, yeah, laugh it up. I already know I'm mentally deficient)

    I've lost all of my gil, which sucks, but that I can recover. However, I need to change my password ASAP so they don't get back in my account and either get me banned or steal anything else.

    I'm trying to change my password to keep them out, but to do so, I need my security question, which I do not remember. I saw online that you're supposed to contact Square Enix support, but it seems the only way to do this is through email, which requires the security question and answer that I don't know.

    What do I do? I don't want to stop playing FFXIV, but I don't want to try and recover my gil just to get it stolen again. Does anyone know a currently available way to contact Square without the security question and answer?

    they are the only ones who can remove your token if you don't have your one time removal passcode they gave you when you linked it.

    If you email them and tell them the issue they can help regardless. I forgot my security question/answer once, so they asked for some ID (sent an image of my passport) and to confirm some info, then shortly after they sent me all the details to reset my password. Set up a security token if you don't have one already and avoid those dodgy links!

    Email them as in a direct email? What would the address be? Any form of contacting them on their site requires the security question, which I can't provide. As for the security token, it didn't help in my case as the fake forum site asks for the one time password too and then uses it to get in your account.

    Yo.. use the support sites please. They're the only ones who can modify or change your account. either way if you forgot your login info AND your security question you have to go through them. There are avenues available to you. Support has been very expedient when replying to my problems.

    So I got through most of making the email to Square (on the support site), but when I attempt to finalize the information put in (contact email, account name, birthday, etc) I get an error on the play settings part. It says to go to the launcher, and copy the play settings from there, but when I do, the box turns red. Is there a known solution to this problem?

    EDIT: Nvmd, I'll just write a message talking about this in that box and hope it works
