    QOL: Battle effects (transparency option)

    Suggestion: Allow us to set the transparency of battle effects. I still want to see them but not at full luminosity where I can't see what I'm doing on tank or melee dps.
    Just turning them off takes away from immersion, an extra setting to keep full effects but with transparency would be a great middle ground.

    Oh god yes. I remember when HW came out and all the skills flash was added. Absolutely do enjoy feeling like a bada##, but not at the expense of being constantly blind...

    I agree 100%! I'm a little sensitive to effects in video games. I have it so I only see my own battle effects already, but sometimes even that is too much (like Holy spam, or the DNC attacks), and turning them to limited or off feels so wrong, as if I'm not even doing anything. All the impact is lost.

    On top of that is that all the effects can be obscuring, and you won't see what you are doing.

    I always wanted a step between full and limited effects, and a transparency setting could be a nice solution to it! I would probably turn on my party members' effects on again, but with very high transparency.

    I wonder how hard it is to implement.

    While I'm not sure transperancy is exactly what I would want, I do absolutely agree with this. Even once you get beyond 4 person content it can be a complete, if beautiful, mess trying to tell what the heck is going on in a fight. But even just setting the effects to minimum means we see basically nothing. Sure that means we can now see the fight mechanics but it also means it just looks like nothing is going on. I'd be all for some sort of happy medium setting where it still looks like there's a fight going on but where it's not impeding the view of what we're actually supposed to be doing.

    Blinded every single time a RDM hits LB3. Usually see at least 1 death because of it.

    Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
    Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
    Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

    Add it to demi summons, too. Demi-Bahamut in particular is so damn big that if multiple summoners are in the group, you can't see anything for big chunks of the fight.

    I like this. After repeatedly farming alliance raid roulette recently, and getting copied factory a lot, I kinda want to see where some of the bosses are facing to know where some of their attacks will hit (for example, 9S' forehind and flank cannons). I mean, it's not impossible to determine where they're facing since the tanks almost always face them north, but I do get hit once or twice when tanks need to dodge mechanics, face the boss another way, and 24 skills flash simultaneously.

    Which still doesn't help a lot in a group with two or three of them going at once, especially when you can't control the size of other players' egis.
