    Lag spikes

Getting huge lag spikes making the game barely playable. I've been relegated to crafting because it's one of the few activities without the risk of dying, but even this is frustrating as the game stops sending and receiving packets ever 30 seconds or so for about 10 seconds at a time, and I got disconnected as well.

I've narrowed the issue down to packet loss on what appears to be a Square Enix server or at least the very last node before connecting to the Primal data center, see this screenshot of PingPlotter. There is also some packet loss happening at the NTT node in San Jose, Cali, but that's outside of Square Enix's scope.

The issue started this morning and has lasted all day.

I understand this could be related to the wildfires, but if that isn't the case y'all should definitely look into the health of your infrastructure. I'm not sure if I'll continue paying for a subscription to a wonky service because it's frustrating to have a chunk of free time available to play a game, and have it in an unplayable state. Looking at the other threads here recently gives me the impression that this is an ongoing issue with many players.

Also, it kind of sucks having to route all the way to the west coast. NA east servers would solve the issue with many players.

Iweb Montreal servers were so much better than these California servers for East Coast.

This is hosted in a NTT owned datacenter, hence why you are even going through their hops.
