Frustrating relative lack of LGBT NPCs in this game

I agree with you. the original post just bothered me. like does a gay character have to roll in and act gay? i feel like this game has lots of gay/feminine characters. these cry baby woke people need to chill. i know I'm a asshole but the game has been really consistent with the content and if they push someone like a very gay character it will ruin the flow. It not a big deal if they have a gay one just not a flaming one with a tee shirt that says "Im gay look at me".

would it really change much and ruin the flow if Meonbryda was a guy, or if during some of the thousands of lives Emet lived in the sundered world he had romantic relationships with men, or if Magnai asked a some pretty bunnyboy if he was his Nhaama? We are not asking someone to come around and yell '' yes, I am gay gay gay GAY NOTICE MY GAYNESS '' while wearing a rainbow shirt or anything, just well implemented good characters that bring good stuff into the story that just happen to be same sex attracted, or involved with someone of the same sex.

I still don't get this. Sorry I am all for LGBTQ representation, but if a game has little to no same sex representation...ie no relationships pretty much at all....why do we need blatantly LGBTQ characters. There are many characters that could go either way from my stance, and a whole bunch of gender role breaking. I don't see the need for any labels in this game. Keep them all fluid.

I mean, in that same vein, it can be thrown back at you. If indeed it matters so little and has so little importance, why would changing it do anything? Why would a change so insignificant mean anything to anyone? This angle holds no water because it relies on demeaning the importance of something to null, but if that's so, why try so hard to change it then? Ultimately, when making a positive change (AKA: A change to something already set. Not necessarily good or bad), it falls on you to debate why that change should be done and "It's not that big a deal" just isn't a compelling case. What would it add to the story? Why would it be important? Or are we just throwing random letters in there for the sake of rainbow marketing?

Then let me throw it back at you, if it's so meaningless, why is it nowhere to be found but opposite sex couples and romance is the standard? If it's no big deal, why is there any freaking oppostion at all ever regarding this subject? If it doesn't matter, why are people debating against it?

I think diversity, when done right, is great. I think there is a barrier regarding same sex couples and attraction being showcased in media that needs to actively be broken until we can say things like '' OH IT DOESN'T MATTER '' when people get bent out of shape with the mere idea of gay couples and attraction being showcased more prominently in media. I'm not saying it's you, but there are plenty of posts in this thread that imply as much.

I never really felt the need to be represented in any game, so it's not really a matter of representation for me. I guess it's just interesting to have different types of people in the world. Makes for good world building. I enjoy it when we have different races in the game. Or different cultures. Different landscapes, architecture, clothing, cooking recipes, furniture, etc... Seeing a relationship take a different form is just one small aspect of that.

Because PC culture is suffocating and people are tired of having an ideology shoved down their throats. So it's understandable that people would have a kneejerk response to stuff like this. I can understand it for sure but not all ideas should be labeled as PC garbage and dismissed out of hand, either. I think it's good to center ourselves as best as we can instead of going from one extreme to the other.

Okay, so your response and primary motive for making it happen is "nou". You ignore that it's your responsibility to present the case because you're the one making a motion for change. That's.... kind of how debate works.

Well since you asked:

1. Death Drop, Tongue Pop and Limp Wrist Flick Emotes (not in the mogstation)
2. Pride Festival Event in June with proceeds going to GLAAD or regional equivalent.
3. Male Roe and Male Hrothgar must get more sets of EXCLUSIVE Revealing outfits.
4. Sissy That Walk must be used in the next marketing campaign.
5. Cid and Nero must be retconned into being husky wartorn lovers who can never truly be together.

I know this may sound too risk kay for final fantasy 14 but I would be happy with gasp hand holding literally of any characters any at all. It might happen in a side quest or the story at some point but everything is so plutonic in a lot of things there is never confirmation of literally any relationships. Sure there are tons of fan art of such things but just one! One thing even subtly confirmed. The only times so far that this has happened is to our WoL and everyone we have a plutonic semi almost romantic relationship with they

We can't even get to the 'I really like you, like you' phase before someone just kills over. At least I got to hold Hauchefaut's hand, Zenos who may or not be on some peoples list keeps dying, Emet for me right now is dead (my best friend T_T), Gaius isn't even an option because they make the WoL growl at him like an angry guard dog randomly at least less so after the events of the whole Ultimate weapon saga, and Kitty boy crystal exarch G'raha Tia that had a cute moment in shadowbringers. Urianger and Thancred are the best but we seem to be friend zoned. Gosetsu is such a cutie but he's off on some grand adventure right now post shadowbringers. No one mentioned there are not many women crushing on the WoL unless I am missing someone. Feo Ul maybe? Y'shtola would friend zone the WoL. I am not complaining but just thought of this not many women seem to crush on the WoL within the story. I might not be reading too much into the dialogue so maybe there are subtle things said, but can not recall them at the moment
