Frustrating relative lack of LGBT NPCs in this game

Now, to be more on topic, I would like to see a more prominent (budding) gay romance or a gay couple in the game, not because the game needs it, or because of any political reasoning, just because I'd personally like it. Video games are still pretty new to including such content, and as someone who enjoys video games as my primary form of preferred entertainment, I do enjoy every bit of such content, granted it is well written and doesn't feel too weirdly forced and essentially writers patting themselves on the back for being iNcLuSiVe.

I actually really liked the male highlander x mooncat couple from the Wanderer's Palace (Hard). I always exhaust all their dialogue because I find them endearing. There's also one quest in Kugane where a male elezen ends up being completely fine with the revelation of an '' actress '' he was infatuated with ending up being a beautiful crossdressing male hyur. It was both entertaining and quite joyous. I would like some similar content beyond just irrelevant side characters in irrelevant side quests. Arguably there is Haurchefant, who is very interested in the WoL regardless of their sex, but the localization team chose to censor all that because western players wouldn't be comfortable with very clear sexual interest of an NPC being '' forced '' on the player.

All in all, FFXIV has done pretty good considering romance and love has been an extremely small part of any character and the story overall. The little bit that is there is actually quite fine. I would welcome more, but I understand it is hard to implement.

The vast, vast majority of communities and players of FFXIV are tolerant and accepting of the LGBT community, trans people included. Honestly, in all my time playing this game, the only place I have ever encountered out and out bigotry like this has been the official forums.

That sounds like a strawman argument. Did anybody actually say they dont respect trans people because they're trans? I've seen plenty of "I dont owe you respect, respect is earned" which is something I agree with myself.

I found the info on men competing in womens sports to be quite interesting. To go from average results at best competing against men to record breaking results when competing against women. Its not hateful to say that is unfair against women to have to compete against biological men who have grown up as men and have all that muscle growth and other advantages. What about testosterone? I would imagine hormone replacement therapy lowers it dramatically but does it bring it to comperable levels to women? Basic biology is not hateful. You dont have to like it but it does exist and no amount of wishful thinking can change that our bodies are different. We grow and develop differently.
