Frustrating relative lack of LGBT NPCs in this game

We are losing pages because people are reporting any comment that goes against having sexuality shoved in our face for no reason other than wanting it to be up front and center while also insulting the people. Weirdly those comments don’t get removed, but I assume it is because we’re not so thin-skinned that we’re reporting any comments that go against them like they are.

Pretty much. The mods only care if reporting happens. They're not actually scrolling through this thread, the OFs are too full of unmanaged crud for the mods to be actively doing anything.
"Shockingly", this seemed to start happening when the topic of Trans came up around the time this thread first hit 100 pages. I'd say that's why more post here haven't been yeeted into the void, IIRC they deleted and re-added some post after reviewing them recently.

If people making transphobic comments (which includes continuing to purposely misgender transgender forum users, or being vulgar by creepily obsessing over what someone else’s genitalia might be) honestly don't understand why their reported comments are getting removed by moderators, then I suggest they carefully review the public terms of service, particularly the section that specifically addresses harassment.

These are the official Final Fantasy XIV forums hosted by Square Enix, not some 4chan-like platform where harassers can just repeatedly regurgitate the same regressive, bigoted nonsense (that frequently ignores modern science and basic human decency) and problematic language without expecting to ever face any consequences for that behavior.

Considering glamour is canon, I like to believe fantasia potions are too but - as their very tooltip states - they're extremely rare, probably bordering on urband legend. At least that's the excuse I used to explain why my Roe was suddenly a Hroth without retconning his entire backstory.

Not to mention the narrative mess it'd imply if they were accessible. Imagine if anyone could pull a Mystique? there'd be spies everywhere

While I fail to see why a character's sexuality has any bearing, I'm not opposed to having them. Could easily slip in during some of the npc filled side-quests or spurts in the MSQ. Not out the ordinary for one person in a couple to be able-bodied for combat and the other is not in XIV's world. An npc could easily mention that their spouse is part of X group of guards/recruits/laborers/etc that the PC is currently looking for. Or even have some nameless npcs in a town or so holding hands, hugging, etc.

Don't need to have the sexuality blasted. There are ways they could slip it in tastefully.
