Frustrating relative lack of LGBT NPCs in this game

You know, to some people this issue matters a little more than an arbitrary page count.

I feel like if you care about this issue, this thread isn't the place to show it. You're not changing any minds here, whether they're bigoted or not tbh.

If my goal was to change people's minds, I'd likely have given up a long time ago. The fact of the matter is that this subject rubs against a lot of peoples core values in some way or another. People will often say they don't care while simultaneously throwing a fit about some manner of the subject. Also there isn't a lot you can do when people reduce an entire group of people down into one single point and disagree with that point. The fact that posts have been removed enough for us to notice a page loss multiple times means that people are at least looking at this thread. Sadly that's kinda all I can hope for on this forum.

I think as far as adding it into the game most people don't care. The subject can get much broader which is where people will begin to disagree on things. You are basically turning a leaky faucet into a busted pipe when you go beyond if it should be in the game or not.

I see your point here and it would be nice if it were the case. It doesn't seem that way to me. If most people didn't care if it were added or not, then why the amount of pushback? Why any?

Where is the pushback? I think a majority of the arguements through out this thread weren't even about the game itself, was mostly pop-political banter.

Because no one likes a hamfisted story. A character's sexuality should not mean anything to the story. If it's some blurb on the codex that doesn't screw the lore then who cares? Thing is that every story that had "representation" were very cringy. The only time I think I thought they did it well was in the Witcher 2. Straight couples exist in the main scenario in a way that you cannot ignore them; why not a gay couple? That's really the main thing people are asking for. For some it's the only thing.

They exist because cause it pushes the story forward in a way an LGT character cannot aka having children. In both real-life and stories being LGT is effectively a dead-end lifestyle with no future or legacy at least the Bs have a choice to continue their bloodlines.

Right so where are the Chai's kids? Also great way to reduce every relationship into one assumed goal of children.

LOL ok fair on the changing minds parts. Still, I still didn't realize there were posts being removed with how on fire it was the past week or so. IMO a lgbt thread on a game forum would be the last place I'd want to have a serious discussion at (I'm in here to just trashpost, really, since it's entertaining enough) because of the amount of toxic ranch people tend to spit back and forth, I'd just rather not deal.

My problem with these kind of topics on the forums is that really you just get two extreme sides yelling at each other so whoever's looking is just going to hard agree on the left or right, or just think we're a bunch of crazy people screaming into a word void. Any relevance to XIV has left long ago. There's only so much discussion to be had after a while before it devolves into.. what we have now, really. At this point whoever's looking probably wishes we could return to monke.

We are losing pages because people are reporting any comment that goes against having sexuality shoved in our face for no reason other than wanting it to be up front and center while also insulting the people. Weirdly those comments don’t get removed, but I assume it is because we’re not so thin-skinned that we’re reporting any comments that go against them like they are.
