We are not asking someone to come around and yell '' yes, I am gay gay gay GAY NOTICE MY GAYNESS '' while wearing a rainbow shirt or anything, just well implemented good characters that bring good stuff into the story that just happen to be same sex attracted, or involved with someone of the same sex.
I mean, in that same vein, it can be thrown back at you. If indeed it matters so little and has so little importance, why would changing it do anything? Why would a change so insignificant mean anything to anyone? This angle holds no water because it relies on demeaning the importance of something to null, but if that's so, why try so hard to change it then? Ultimately, when making a positive change (AKA: A change to something already set. Not necessarily good or bad), it falls on you to debate why that change should be done and "It's not that big a deal" just isn't a compelling case. What would it add to the story? Why would it be important? Or are we just throwing random letters in there for the sake of rainbow marketing?
