They tend to keep character's identity and orientation as a lesser aspect of the story and everything going on. The amount of (NPC) couples we see are very few and far between as the story focuses less on the personal stuff such as that and more on the events happening to the characters and the world around them and the player character. I don't care one way or the other what the NPC's orientation/identity is, I'm more interested in the story as it pertains to our characters and the rest of the world and not who the NPC in question is romantically interested in when they're not around us.

Alright you want representation, awesome. What would that look like to you? How exactly should the devs go about making that happen? I'm not trolling or asking a rhetorical question either, I genuinely want to know.
