Ultimately, when making a positive change (AKA: A change to something already set. Not necessarily good or bad), it falls on you to debate why that change should be done and "It's not that big a deal" just isn't a compelling case. What would it add to the story? Why would it be important? Or are we just throwing random letters in there for the sake of rainbow marketing?
Then let me throw it back at you, if it's so meaningless, why is it nowhere to be found but opposite sex couples and romance is the standard? If it's no big deal, why is there any freaking oppostion at all ever regarding this subject? If it doesn't matter, why are people debating against it?

I think diversity, when done right, is great. I think there is a barrier regarding same sex couples and attraction being showcased in media that needs to actively be broken until we can say things like '' OH IT DOESN'T MATTER '' when people get bent out of shape with the mere idea of gay couples and attraction being showcased more prominently in media. I'm not saying it's you, but there are plenty of posts in this thread that imply as much.
