You are far less likely to run into someone faking being transgender (as doing so would literally give them the same feelings of dysphoria and disconnection between mind and body), than you are to run into someone who is actually transgender.
I disagree from personal experience, but this is all anecdotal. Which is also why I take umbrage with you saying this is patently false as I can imagine you also come at this from a point of personal experience. I know quite a few people who fake it, as I hear exasperated stories from friends currently undergoing the procedures.
