Frustrating relative lack of LGBT NPCs in this game

I wish people who made threads like this to troll knew they were only hurting us and how seriously people take us. Trolling like this makes it easier for others to react negatively to any mention of LGBT stuff because this just gives them fuel for their bigotry. And then people actually fall for it even though it's widely known who the active trolls are, but they don't care because it gives them something to argue about or it just gives them a reason to hate us.

This is my issue as well. Would I like more representation in a medium I enjoy? By all means, I cannot even begin to explain how happy it made me to see that gay NPC couple from the Post Moogle questline or the entirety of the Dotharl who were very gender positive through their views on the soul. However there's no bigger slap in the face than a well known forum troll basically hopping on that bandwagon and deliberately inciting forum ire in their crusade to get the most bans on this forum.

The game could use more representation, yes. However by already basically ignoring the orientation of the vast majority of it's characters and having several fan favorites be pansexual and flagrantly so it's doing fine in my eyes.

Exactly. It's always nice to have more rep, and the game does already have a bit which is nice, but it's pretty dirty for people to use that to start arguments and feed into people's hate on the forums. People give me crap for 'flaming' if I pop into an ongoing thread and make a single comment, but they see threads like this and just go along with it? I guess people just love pulling the wool over their own eyes.

That's true, the game characters simply don't talk about their sexuality. I can't think of any heterosexual couple either; uh, maybe the silly Elezens from Valentione and I don't know what else. There isn't any sort of meaningful romance anywhere, that I can think of. Meanwhile, we have several NPCs who seem to have weakness for the WoL regardless of the WoL's gender, so everyone should be happy.

(I know this is a troll post but I saw some people giving serious replies, believing that the game is lacking any sort of representation, so I had to add my two cents for those people).

Pretty much this. I'm all for them giving npcs flavor text "oh my husband sent me this, my wife that", things that already exist for straight couples and the few LGBT ones in the game already, though I haven't really noticed that many of either side.

Sorry, is the TC a known troll or something? Because unlike some of you I am not in the know about the history of this forum or its members since I am relatively new, and I genuinely thought that they are trying to promote more representations of minority characters in this game which I think is not a bad thing at all.

Yeah, they're known for starting troll threads to get people arguing. I think they're suspected of being the same person as past troll topic creators (RagingStallion, TitanMen, to name a few), but I'm not fully In The Know about the deep lore.

Because unlike some of you I am not in the know about the history of this forum or its members since I am relatively new, and I genuinely thought that they are trying to promote more representations of minority characters in this game which I think is not a bad thing at all.

Yeah, his original account was called Titanmen and every once in awhile he'll get temp banned, leave for a bit, then come back with a new account. You can usually tell his posts apart from normal posts by writing style and tone. As well as the fact that he tends to name many of his characters after porn sites. After awhile he just gets really easy to spot, which is likely why he wholesale copied someone else's topic.
