Frustrating relative lack of LGBT NPCs in this game

Yup, looking at my post history ... even the cool music vid about how humans aren't clown fish got yeeted into the void.

Apparently, just listing the ways human sexes differ from slugs and certain lizards/ fish is prune worthy. If they mods really wanted to do their job, this whole thread would be thrown away on the bases that it was made by and necroed by a troll.

It doesn't matter if this were made and necrod by a troll. The new thread would be the same because the arguments would be the same. So square needs to come and say political, legal and economic speech isn't wanted in their game, put it in the ToS and shut down every one of these threads.

It's a global product, and the international community doesn't want it, doesn't want to see it and is against it based on religious and cultural beliefs. That I can understand because it sounds like the west is inflicting our superior values on the rest of the world, and they should be open about it.

Then the people in the western community who agree with the principles can stay, or those of us who disagree can leave.

The truth is always better than a lie and memory holing a thread is pointless because it doesn't change people's feelings or viewpoints. It just means that since new people can't get clear and up to date information on the topic and what went on, we will have to have the same conversations repeatedly.

I agree 100% with you on this, many threads like this are used as Bait, created by Trolls to cause a greater wedge between people of differing opinions.

Having ones sexuality and personal preferences forced into a game, from real life, would add nothing to the game but further contention, and would also only benefit a small percentage of the playerbase.

Many threads like this, are frequent on other video games forums, where people from the LGBTQA+ Community would call out thread posters as trolls, and that they play the game because they enjoy it, and they don't feel the need to be catered to.

This is always a bull argument. Heteronormative sexuality gets a free pass and flies under the radar every time. "sexuality doesn't belong in videogames" becomes invalid when you have heterosexual characters by default displaying their heterosexuality.
You don't really want to 'not include sexuality in the game', you're just only content with one form of it.

Now when it comes to XIV, it's not really a big deal. Most main characters don't have overt romantic relationships, are asexual or player-sexual, ceremony of eternal bonding isn't gender locked, and you just have minor NPC's here or there that reference a spouse now and then.
And that's fine, this make inclusivity easy, you just make a minor NPC here and there that references a spouse... of the same gender. It's not difficult, intrusive, or immersion breaking.
But both sides make it a bigger deal than it needs to be. Proponents call for it to be more than it needs to be, and opponents get offended at "any mention of sexuality" (while conveniently ignoring all of the heteronormative already in the game).
Which is why I agree that this topic needs to be locked. SE's aren't so backwards that they're not already being inclusive, so this isn't a protest that needs to occur, meanwhile the topics themselves always just descend into a cringe transphobic circlejerk.

FFXIV has tons of politics, religious elements, and several characters who have opposite sex attraction or are/have been in opposite sex relationship. This argument is complete nonsense.

Every game every single one has one of those aspects if not all, you can even tell in a vast majority the deal is its so wraped in a fantasy orb noone (almost noone) even notices
