Im not sure if it really matters the sexually of a npc in a video game there can be subtle hints maybe but is it needed does it bring any story defining revelation if alphinaud is gay ( alphinaud always looks at estinien strangely so i have my suspicions ) or thancred is bi ??

Also with the esrb rating its never going to get full on and even more so with how conservative the japanese are let alone sony and their rules !!

Uhh...Estinien is for sure a big brother to Alphi. Idk where you got the idea that he may like him. And Thancred has never been seen flirting with men.

I agree. There's no real indication that Alphinaud or Estinien are gay aside from the explosion of fanservice in that direction. Canonically, it means nothing. "Looking at someone strangely" is an incredible reach. I suppose Y'shtola and I are life-long companions bound for marriage because there was that one time we were in a room alone.

And yes. Thancred is pretty irrefutably only into women.

Not that it'd lower the creepiness, but Alphinaud should be 18 by now considering the timeskip in Shadowbringers.

The age gap would still be pretty aggressive though.

I forgot where I saw it, but wasn't it said that ARR-EW all takes place within a year? So at most 17 maybe. I'm pretty sure time in the First moves faster than the Source, but I don't remember at this point

That would be... a horrifically bad timeline. If I'm to understand Final Days/Dragonsong War/The Ala Mhigan Conflict all happened in a year, none overlapping and instead happening back-to-back, that's a horrifically amateur way of constructing a story.

Even so, I was led to believe the time spent in the First before we were sent here was 2 years, albeit it only accounting for far less time in the Source. But now time in both are synced? They're doing a poor job of explaining this. I suppose it would be up to you to deliberate on whether 'compressed time' (spending a large amount of time in an ecosystem, only to leave it for another where far less time passed in comparison) counts towards age or not. It's all a bit confusing, I admit, and I subscribe to compressed time counting towards your age because, at least by my assumption, if you were to live out your age as an old man in the First, you would probably stay an old man coming to the Source.

Nah soul age doesn't equal physical age (only their soul went to the first and was there for around a year) they're still only 16 due the time bubble they're in being for the year 1577 a hell of a huge one but we've seen worse with the simpsons.

Otherwise thancred would be close to his 40's or in them, being a soul with on the first for 5 years... then again Cyella the bar wench has been there for 100 and never really aged due to being kinda the same as the scions... then *shrugs* and the only difference between cyella and the scions is her physical body is dead on the 13th.

it was about does it really matter or does anyone really care what the sexuality of the npc's are ??

i mean firstly its a video game .. secondly a japanese video game .. thirdly their never going to elaborate on what the sexuality is of any npc !

it just causes to much hate between the community !
