Frustrating relative lack of LGBT NPCs in this game

Haurchefant isn't considered LGBT because of the fandom, exactly. He's pansexual. It's just not very obvious in the English translation. (The Japanese version doesn't leave any room for interpretation on this)

In general I wouldn't mind more LGBT representation though. Elder Scrolls Online has had LGBT characters since day one.

Which makes it very curious why people are so mad at me asking for more representation. Surely it cannot be the rampant homophobia in this community...

There has been an influx of players coming from a very anti-LGBT gaming community. They use to play that popular MMO from Irvine California, the one that allowed a very toxic community to thrive. The reality is Square has always been very pro-LGBTQ+, but the World isn't quite ready for all their Gay, Bi, and Trans characters to come out of the closet.

In fact, Japanese Video Game productions have always had tons of LGBTQ+ characters, sadly they use to use the term "New Type" which was a slang term for a Trans woman. Several main characters in early games were "New Type".

LGBTQ+ and Japanese games have gone hand in hand since the 80s. Final Fantasy being especially stand out in this.

You don't have to let the NPC say "I'm gay" to show that they are gay. You could have a newly-wed gay couple standing together but with their dialogue talking about something other than being gay.

No one is advocating for thousands of NPCs to yell that they're gay.

That's the goal of this post. OP mentions that they're LGBT POC so that when people point out that they're a troll, there will be others defending the OP, and the OP can just default that the community is toxic/hateful. I was baited by one of the OP's other thread where they ignore all proper solutions and focus on the replies that agree with them. RagingStallion's threads were more obviously trolly. This one can probably start a hate war if it gets out of hand.

To be fair, that may indirectly imply Viera are generally ok with playing around with the same sex, much like Amazons. Either that or the females give the 'death by snu snu' treatment to the few males that visit during mating season.

IIRC, the Viera segregation of sexes has indeed been mentioned in FFXII.

Aside the whether its true or not. dw dude there are 2 groups of people, those that know not to generalise and those that are looking for something to hate in order to validate their miserable existence and you only have to care about one of those groups.
