Frustrating relative lack of LGBT NPCs in this game

Because although this guy is technically a troll, he also brought up a point of debate - and hence why people would debate on the issue so furiously. Even if this topic was talked about years ago, things change as with time. Old subjects may be re-looked at since people's perspectives and outlooks change. The point of debate itself isn't wrong. Banning someone for bringing up an old issue such as this would be unjustified unless it was a direct necro without any meaningful discussion.

Although he started igniting the spark of this topic, it's ultimately the players who feel very strongly about this topic who would speak up and continue the thread.

Well here's the thing though: the mods wouldn't be banning this guy under necroing a thread; they'd be banning him because he's repeatedly necroing threads left and right. To begin with, the modding here is as night and day compared to other gaming forums. For example, the mods that I knew over at Nexon wouldn't give 2 shits about pretense. They were the type that would merge topics that looked similar, lock up inflammatory threads (and give an explanation why they lock it), and did not tolerate the presence of trolls that did not know when to stop. You know how kids in school try to use rules as a shield to get around stuff they knew was bad? Well the mods would use those same rules to their advantage too and ban trolls on the premise that the TOS allows them to suspend accounts for whatever reason they see fit.

Of course, this was like, maybe a decade ago? No idea if the forum modding over there is the same style, same rules, etc. All I'm trying to say is that the mods here could try to wipe the crap that's being thrown in their eyes under the veil of "legit" points and be a tad more aggressive towards the appropriate people.

The idea that LGBT representation as "Western Idea" is idiotic though.

What does that even mean. That LGBT representation is something that Japanese people, companies, etc, shouldn't be concerned about? Eh, nah.

NO company should be concerned about it unless that is their focus. SquareEnix makes games. They aren't a company founded, or focusing, on LGBT issues. Stop shoving your politics into everything and everywhere it has no place to be. It only results in the destruction of the company and causing division in the community, with anyone not agreeing with you being label -ists, -isms, and -phobes.
