    My Suggestion:

    I think the biggest pain point is seeing a duplicate item drop when one is not desired (the normal case right now). The next sad point I see is getting a weapon you do not need, when your friend needs it so badly. Therefore I would suggest:

    If a drop would randomize to be a duplicate, it should become 10 totems in your loot pool instead. This can then be exchanged for the item you need, or passed to someone so they can get the item they need.

    Didnt say the need to remove crappy droprate on weapon, keep crappy droprate on weapons, just changes around the totem system.

    They're already lowering moogle weapon cost to 10 nuts so just make the bloody weapons passable via loot list already.

    What I want, is for the primals to have a 100% chance of a token drop on a kill for all party members, no weapons drop from the actual boss.

    10 Tokens to buy a weapon from an NPC.
    20 Tokens for the most recent weapons (in this case Garuda)

    I just wanted to add please for the love of god once you decide to give totems a 100% drop rate then make it so players who are 7/7 can turn in new totems for seals. Bam everyone is happy.

    no, it was completely possible with this engine. it may not have been possible with their programming talent, but that would be another issue.

    no, that would be the issue. think about it. if you get a nut from that chest you can pass it through the loot list from that very same fight. if they can do it with one thing out of the chest and not another that is programming fail and nothing more if the engine is the excuse.

    truth is it's not the reason it's not there. the truth is yoshi stated it was to keep people from ninja looting the drops. it's a fail argument itself, but it is the excuse he gave.

    EITHER of the following quick-fixes would be fine by me:
    • Allow players to pass weapons to other party members
    • Remove weapon drops, boost Totem/Charms drop rate - at least two drops per party per fight

    My ideal solution (pre 2.0):
    • Remove Weapon drops.
    • Chest is guaranteed to drop 1-2 Totems/Charms (no longer trade-able)
    • Chest also drop 1-2 random thematic HQ rewards (eg. Eye of Fire, Obsidian, Fire Clusters, Rubelite, Fire Potion, Electrum Ingot, etc. for Ifrit).
    • Trade-in increases to ~20 totems/charms per weapon as well as some other high-end materials (eg. ingots, leather, etc)
    • NPC then "Crafts" weapon for you.

    Advantages:
    • Obvious progression towards getting a weapon.
    • Players not burnt by terrible luck.
    • Players can get their weapon of choice.
    • Thematic rewards enhance the elemental aspect of the encounter = immersion +1
    • NPC crafting = immersion +2


    Disadvantages:

    • Lack of suspense in opening chest.
    • No 'Big Reward' for victory.
    • First-timers will have to grind to get weapon instead of having a chance at a lucky drop.
    • Players may abandon content after getting their weapon of choice.
