The moderators are probably going to reject this bug report for insufficient information (since you haven't explained all the steps of what happened) but anyway...

Are you certain you used a Fantasia for your character and not a "Retainer Fantasia" for altering a retainer?

Did you follow the instructions about (if I remember correctly) logging out at the inn with all gear unequipped?
