Make housing "instanced". It has worked in every other game allowing all players a chance to enjoy the system. Players would still have to purchase plots outright, but not be competing against each other and also against virtually impossible odds of success! And I'm sure all can agree the "click wars" and the fact you basically have to be a no-lifer (which I am and it is still a near impossible task to obtain a plot). Any childish or troll comments will be reported and then deleted! TY.

Apartments = instanced housing (with certain limitations).

It's been brought up several times but this isn't any other game, and the fact more housing is planned to be added to each ward just goes to show that it being instanced is unlikely to happen. There just isn't enough supply of housing to keep up with demand, so someone is always going to be complaining that they can't get a house. You can still enjoy the system though if someone else or an FC has a house and gives you permissions to do stuff with it (decorating etc), don't need to be a homeowner yourself to have access to many of the benefits.

There are a lot of topics already on the subject, and Yoshi-P has always said that he wants to keep it community-based, and they will only add new neighbourhoods from time to time.

Topic been brought up a million times before. I want to keep it as is but wish they removed the rng timer and made wards dynamic (add automatically new wards when all bought up until a certain limit due to server load/cost).

I'd like to see instanced housing alongside the current system so players who enjoy the wards can still have that experience. That said, I'd only choose an instanced house if there was:
- No demolition timer
- Some system where you could upgrade to a larger size (gil sink possibly)
- Decent gardens so you can place outside furniture
- Full access to gardening, FC workshops etc.
- Decent views beyond your plot, ideally with your choice of location
- Access to MB, Vendors, post-moogle etc (probably a communal area serving many houses)

I don't believe they can expand the ward system sufficiently to satisfy demand, which is why I'd like to see instanced housing. However, I wouldn't want players who love their house and who do live in a thriving neighbourhood to lose that. I live in a dead ward and I rarely see anyone, even though I log out at my house and use the MB almost every day, so for me instanced wouldn't feel very different at all.

I understand just fine that an apartment is instanced, but it's not a house. I listed my criteria for instanced housing in my post above.

The instanced housing we have already (apartments and FC rooms) simply don't have enough features to make them a viable option for individuals and FCs in crowded worlds where getting a conventional house is next to impossible. An apartment can't be shared and it doesn't have workshop access, so for a FC it's useless.

I love my apartment, but I do wish there were ones bigger than now. A small house is larger than an apartment and you can use twice as many decoration slots as well. And I'm not 'upset' with apartments, but I do long for a larger alternative. Even if I lost the apartment if I unsubscribed I would be happy if I had the option to go for a larger one. Additionally being able to give tenant rights to friends would make apartments MUCH more viable for probably a large swath. I don't do advanced gardening myself but many seem to want a garden bed, and for some the "yard" is a necessary component to having a house as well.

For me tho, larger apartment options would be enough, that and more slots to deco with. Hope this helps you see where the majority who aren't satisfied with apartments are at.
