A small hint when selling stuff on the market.

I sell a lot of raw materials in bundles of 99. I often see players competing with me on price when they sell far fewer at a time. You should be aware that selling 99 of something is far more difficult than selling 10 or so, that's why you see the bundles of 99 relatively cheap. If I sell 99 for 300 gil, don't sell 10 for 299 gil, sell them according to the prices others with similar numbers do, that's the one you compete against. If no one sells anything that low, you can easily double the price of a bundle of 10, compared to one of 99, probably much more. If someone only wants to buy 10 and their choice is 99 for 300 gil (29,700 gil in total) or 10 for 10,000 gil, they most probably will choose 10.

Selling lower when selling in bulk is a good idea.

That's what we call a 'unit discount'.

On the other hand, when I sell stuff in small stacks, I often have one person buy everything I have for sale. Which means I could just as well have saved the trouble of splitting it and conserved my sale slots by selling it all at once.

I really wish this game had a commodities market where you can just enter the amount you want and get exactly that many of the item at the cheapest price available.

i mean, i've paid more for stacks of 50 or 99 than buying cheaper mixes of 1, 5, 10 etc. just more convenient than clicking a bunch of times.

Depends on the item. Food and pots generally is better sold in 10/20 stacks rather 99. There is exceptions of course.

I get them, once in a while, buying 693 items at a time (I normally keep 7 stacks on the market). That's why I seldom go on the market with less than 2 full stacks of 999.
