During the Rising Event... [Small Spoilers]

That CS is Yoshi talking to the players, not an in game reference. Its literally Yoshi thanking the players for supporting the game since the mis-steps of 1.0 and its rebirth as ARR. The calamity was the name for the in game end of 1.0 but also serves as a reference to the real world event of shutting off the 1.0 servers and the rebuild that happened.

That scene was breaking the Fourth Wall and Yoshi himself talking directly to you the player instead of the Wandering Minstrel talking to your character, and thanking you for supporting and playing a video game that was released 7 years ago. The Rising events are always very meta and Fourth-Wall breaking, so players who have been playing since the beginning knew what to expect with this, thus it can be quite a shock to new players experincing this event for the first time (the best was, and still is, the 2015 Rising with the 'Eighteenth Floor' aka, the FFXIV Development Team offices at Square Enix HQ!).

So yeah, it's referring literally to FFXIV ARR being 7 years since it's launch and replacement of the old 1.0 version (which, incidentally, will be 10 years old in early October, but something tells me SE are not going to bother referencing the anniversary of that game's launch ).
