Um, all technically true, but since the way, they did things here in 14, it makes me wonder about Grand Pulse and Eos, not sure which game is Edrea though.
The thing is, the worlds and settings of games other than FFXIV having full quests and story content involving those worlds and locations mean that even if it's not exactly the same world as found in other material, those locations are real places in the cosmology of the world where Eorea is a subcontinent. By this I mean, we've only seen two of the 14 worlds in this cosmology.
the rest is in spoilers as there are things revealed in 5.3
It is strongly implied that the First is the world of Final Fantasy (aka the First). The Warrior of Light of that game and the cover art is highly implied to be Elidibus our Elidibus. To compound this further only a small fraction of the first is seen, but it is highly likely that an ancient civilization could have had Mechs, and space station castles. To fight dragons on.
Grand Pulse, likewise is very possibly connected to Barts's world of V.
7 and 10 are also linked.
In fact, if you go through all the Final Fantasy games, and interviews you will find out that the Cosmos of Final Fantasy has always been a series of linked worlds with games on various worlds at different points in their histories.

You're right of course. Versions of other FF settings or FF settings in their entirety could exist beyond the Source and the First. And there is plenty of planemeldy lore at work in this game.Um, all technically true, but since the way, they did things here in 14, it makes me wonder about Grand Pulse and Eos, not sure which game is Edrea though.

My point was more that if one wants to argue against having references to other media in Eorzea, well....that ship's already sailed.
fair enough. I just wanted to remind you that those places are now officially locations in 14, albeit not necessarily as seen in the source material. On this note, I knew all your referenced locations but one. Edrea, which game world is that from? You're right of course. Pass, keep everything from outside the game outside.
Yes a tragic death, but so are many deaths.
If we get a emote for every tragic death ... you see where this is going.

To you. He's probably one of the most prominent actor for African Americans and has done a lot for those communities. There's a reason Black Panther was a cultural phenomenon.I say no.
Nothing against Chadwick, but I do not think that sort of thing really belongs in FFXIV.
If you want to give to some charity, you can do so anyway.
Besides, while I am sure there are plenty of nerds here, I bet most people here wouldn't have been able to tell you who Chadwick was if you had asked them two weeks ago. He wasn't quite that famous.

wheres my stan lee emote

Erdrea is the setting from Dragon Quest XI.
(which is a fantastic game, I definitely recommend it.)

I think the difference is that SE can easily do an event or a partnership when their media division already owns the license. While Disney and Square Enix collaborated for Kingdom Hearts, it's not quite the same as it was for Dragon Quest the other Final Fantasy game events, where SE definitely owns the rights to the games that were brought in and there's no copyright dispute to have.
It'd have to be done on a friendly crossover terms the way Monster Hunter/XIV did, where each game got an equal piece, or like the Garo event where it was time limited. The Mouse would probably want too much money to make it worthwhile for an MCU crossover.
That said, there's no reason that the players can't do their own in game tributes. ENTM's September challenge theme is MCU.
