Healing DRK is literally... the same since ShB. The reason why people think it's a meme to heal nowadays because DRK receives very little to no buff to their sustainability vs 3 other tanks getting something useful. If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.
I'm sorry but I can't understand the complaint about the 2 weeks. The event lasted waaaaay longer than any other event, so the OP missing over 95% of the event's duration isn't SE's fault. It's not the OP's fault either (unless they didn't bother with it until it was almost over). It's no one's fault, really. It's just tough luck. When stuff like this happens in life, we might feel bitter or upset for some time, but then we move on. We can't always have what we want and we need to accept that. We don't always have the possibility to demand another chance. SE has no obligation to bring the event back, but if they do, good for everyone who didn't manage to get the stuff they wanted. As for the argument against PvP, well, SE is free to choose whatever content they want to boost or "revive." Yeah, PvP in FF14 might suck, but if they bring back the event, it'll most likely be the exact same one as before, so everyone who doesn't like PvP will just have to suck it up and suffer through it (I sure as hell did this back then).
On a side note, there was no need to be rude to the people who responded. That's really not how to handle conversations.

The Glamour Effect: That awkward moment when you realize you know FFXIV's gear pieces better than your own wardrobe X'D
Well this thread went south fast....
But yeah 2 or 3yrs was a long time to have a collaboration event, was pretty generous and SE doesn't own Garo so it's not so easy to just bring things back on request. Hell even though SE said the MH stuff was here to stay, nothing to stop Capcom from suddenly asking for it to be removed and renegotiating the terms, just one of those things. Only thing you can do is make the most of things while they exist.
The problem is that the requirements were not ridiculously unfair objectively, given the length of time the event ran; that many Frontlines victories over the course of two years was relatively trivial for anyone who routinely did PvP. And they gave a fair amount of warning that Garo was going away—warning in April that it'd be gone in October with 5.1.
But Shadowbringers didn't release until the beginning of July, and the reviews that 'holy crap this is a really good expansion' started landing in late July. And there was a big influx of new players in August and September.
Which meant if you joined in, say, September, you had until late October to get leveled to 30, unlock PvP, win enough wolf marks to get the Makai gear, hit level 60 (so you could equip the Makai gear to get the title), get the title, and then win 10 Frontlines matches. And in the pre-Covid days of last fall, back in the Before Times when people went outside and had to travel to work and all, that was a lot of hours to put in pretty quickly. Especially when there were a lot of other things to do for newcomers to the game. (Get extreme primal mounts! Advance the MSQ! Try to get a house! Etc.)
Add to that the fact that a lot of people who joined around that time never saw the April announcement (having not been playing in April), so the first they heard about the Garo event (and that gear and those mounts) going away was maybe 2-3 weeks before it was going to poof, when a reminder landed in the launcher banners. And at that point, the requirements were pretty difficult, because: a) those Frontlines victories were reliant on the performance of other people, b) Frontlines was suddenly flooded by a ton of people who wanted those mounts but had never PvP'd, and c) it was back when pre-made parties could still queue for Frontlines and people could toggle Freelancer off.
So it wasn't uncommon to have two teams of people where most had barely ever PvP'd before and just desperately wanted gear/titles/mounts, and one team (possibly consisting of pre-mades on Discord voice with each other) from whichever Grand Company dominated PvP on that datacenter. And unsurprisingly, the experienced team would flatten the newcomers. It was like a perfect storm of "lol nope you aren't getting this" unless people were really, really determined (or lucky enough to be in the appropriate Grand Company and queue without Freelancer enabled).
(...and then about a week before the patch landed, they announced that the Diadem was going away, and would become crafter/gatherer content in a future patch. So if you also wanted Diadem mounts and achievements back when it was Adventure Combat Monster Zone, now you had another thing to desperately grind.)
I aim to make my posts engaging and entertaining, even when you might not agree with me. And failing that, I'll just be very, VERY wordy.Originally Posted by Packetdancer

The GARO event went on for well over a year.
You had plenty of time to do it if you wanted to.
Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]
Personally as someone who farmed all the gear and mounts before 5.0 dropped I wouldn't mind if garo came back. Our fc has new players and it pains me when I show off a glam or one of the horses and have to tell them they can't get it. If garo did come back I would love to see them add weapons for the classes that didn't get one. Also another mount but require rival wings wins(I would say bout 20 this would help build towards the 60 wins mount since if I remember correctly RW wins counted toward it anyways)
It won't happen, their contract ended and that was the only reason it was around for as long as it was in the first place.
Unfortunately, this is the case for all the rewards that we get from seasonal events. The only difference, however, is that a year later, the MogStation will have these items added to it, which I don't expect them to do for the Garo event![]()

I never said that they were ridiculously unfair. A difference of 10 wins or so in the Feast isn't a huge deal either way if they were to nerf it by that much. What you were asking for was exactly that though...a participation trophy, in that you don't want to win to receive your prize. The winning part should be required, regardless of how many wins is needed.
Like any other seasonal event, you're either active when it runs, or you miss out. If you didn't start playing until the event was nearly over, that's not even something worth complaining about. You learn to accept quickly that in a perpetual game, there's always something you missed out on.
