That's a terrible way of looking at it and all it manages to achieve is to make yourself more annoying than the already loud people.
Have you ever been in a room with small children ( I use to teach 2nd grade.)? That's what small children think. "If I scream louder than Johnny, everyone will MUST notice me instead!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!"
There is a way to get your point across without sounding condescending or forceful with your points.
Yes, there could be an option, it would be nice, but it's not game breaking or absolutely necessary because you "don't like them". As others have said, there are players that find them useful; several of those notifications are useful to me as well.

The funny thing here is you think you're insulting me, but the reality is I post in such a way, my thread gains traction, without really risking a ban. Thats a lot harder than you think.
I am not a person who needs validation from the masses. I dont post to gain likes, like a vast majority of others do. I post in 1 of 2 ways, 1. to gain traction, typically as in a new thread. 2. to respond to someone else, and I tend to try to be less inflated when I am just responding. It really depends how absurd the person I'm responding to is.
I dont try to be louder than the other people either. What I do is say something that makes you all louder. If you want to use the kids in a room screaming, I would be the one who says "Teacher, can I use the restroom, oh and look he has a boogie hanging from his nose! *points at person with snot*."
Or... or ... maybe.. just maybe.. I'm aware enough Square-Enix has been clear in their direction, so I post on the things I feel potentially could be addressed, easily. That matter to me.
You.. know... the saying "pick your battles." But again thats sensibility.
Honestly at this point, I'm feeling even things like this wont be addressed, so I'll likely stop. Wont you all like that huh? But if you all really like when people stop "complaining" thats exactly what Yoshida said about 1.0 players. When you're complaining, that means you care, when you stop complaining, thats when you know you've failed. If you think i'm in a small boat if I do quit, or take another extended break, you're sorely wrong. There is a reason they have 20 million accounts, but fail to hold a steady 1 million subscriptions.

To be fair, I don't know why we expect much from someone using an alt as their character on the forums. There's always something fishy about people who do that.
I would rather my thread gain my traction because of something constructive instead of me screaming the loudest and shouting "you can't defeat meeeeeeee!" But that's just me though.
Also, I think you HEAVILY overestimate yourself. Years of experience on the job tell me that children will either scream "ewwwwwwwww!!!!!" or end up eating their own snot and pretend like nobody noticed that.

You dont realize how wrong you are. There is no estimation.
In fact, all my threads gain way more traction than I anticipate. Most of the time I dont even have to respond on them. I'm responding on this one, because its something I genuinely want to see added, and am baffled why its been 7 years and not done so.
Why would I post on something that I know would gain "positive traction" such as asking for Male Viera/Female Hrothgar if I personally do not care about those features?
Again, I already said I dont post to gain likes. I post on what matters to me. Its not my fault what matters to me, doesnt matter to the masses. I dont enjoy listening to Lady Gaga, or watching videos of Niki Minaj. I enjoy things the vast majority of you have never even heard of. Things the masses tend to like, are very simplistic and shallow. Much like the direction this game has been going over the last 7 years.
I mean, we used to have attribute points that mattered (in 1.0 not 2.0.) Now its literally *just* item level. Nothing else matters outside of item level. Even crafting and gathering was more involving now its all quick synth and macros. Another better example for me personally is the quest in South Shroud where you go to the back of the tavern, pick up a bucket, take it to the river, place it in the river, wait for it to fill, pick it back up and splash the drunkard. Now its just you get a bucket outright. That was one of the times I felt the game did a nice simple job of creating even the tinest of immersion and they completely removed it because people are too impatient to enjoy something so simple.
If you're trying to insult me or irritate me I can outright tell you the best method. The more absolutely pointless things you say and if you take something out of my statement that is completely off topic, that is when I get annoyed.
For example if you said "for someone who isnt trying to be louder you sure are posting a lot."
Which is not only wrong, but completely off topic, and its a pointless response. Enough of these though I just hide the persons responses, because to me clearly they dont care about the functionality of the forums, and arent adding anything of value to any thread.
Edit of edits:
While I am here, and while I am speaking of on topic I will add a few things.
I personally see the point of this feature. A lot of new people complain they get lost easily or arent sure of things, and a lot of gaming companies try to make a game that is simple enough that a brand new person to video games can start their game as their first video game ever. I realize a lot of people who play games already know the basics to gaming, so often times when the introduction period is too long, they start to feel the game is boring. There is a tight balance to these types of things. You want new players to not get frustrated or confused, and you dont want it to drag too long for veteran people.
So, in light of that knowledge, I would only assume, that such a feature as this would not only exist, but be the default setting. What doesnt make sense, is there is no option to turn it off, and even more so, how people can "defend" it as if asking for it to be turned off would magically ruin the game for them. (and yes this is me purposefully being sensible and then adding my inflation to the statement just to shake things up a bit. You all are so funny thinking I dont know exactly what I'm doing.)
More edits!
I mentioned a good way to irritate me. Someone coming in here responding to this and saying "oh its more than item level! You clearly dont do savage cause sometimes "BiS" is not the highest item level gear. Sometimes it can be the crafted item because the substats outweigh the main stat hahahaherurrurduerurreherhe git gud scrub"
Thats the kind of nonsense that is so pointless and irritating. As if someone who joined in 2012 doesnt know about substats and materia. Doesnt grasp the concept of a blanket statement. Doesnt grasp how stats have changed since 1.0, doesnt grasp ... basically anything a person who has been playing a singular video game for 7+ years wouldnt know. Of course I know about substats. The point I was making was that it went from gear sets, allotted points, custom builds, expansive materia system, spiritbond parties, the thrill of melding materia in 1.0 and how high risk yielded high rewards, to... "get higher item level." Literally all those systems are gone, in exchange for something very simple and very shallow. That was the point. And to that, responding with saying how "well 1.0 suckedddddd" is also pointless and annoying, as if I dont already know 1.0 failed, and how it was irritating and extremely time consuming to blow up gear after piece of gear trying to meld it. But to me that made the game very involving. To most, to its demise.)
Care to divulge?
Is it the typical type of macro where its not actually auto hide and return, like the chat log feature where you have to manually hide it and it turns back on any time you're trying to do something else while using the gamepad?
Its not "auto" if you have to manually do it. Thats literally the antonym of the word. (Manual is the antonym of automatic.)

You never mentioned the word "Auto", hence my response was not in relation to it being automatic. but I appreciate you explaining the difference between manual and automatic... Enlightening.
Hotbar 5, 6 & 7 for example:
/hotbar display 5
/hotbar display 6
/hotbar display 7
<wait.5>
/hotbar display 5 off
/hotbar display 6 off
/hotbar display 7 off
The hotbars will automatically hide after 5 seconds (or whatever you set it to).

Care to explain why you are using an alt-account to post on the forums? Personally i don't take anything seriously from individuals who obviously don't want to be known. An account from 2012 with 936 posts and only a Lv.25 Gladiator while everything else is at 0. Hmmmm......
I'll add the endless confirmations. I don't need a confirmation to go through a door, especially when it takes 3 seconds to return if I do it by mistake. One click, and the transfer should start.
The only times you should have to confirm an action is if it has a cost, or will take a long time to undo / return.
