I'd be down. I would still sub to XI if I wasn't forced to pay €30-40 every month (including extra retainers and mog sacks).
Wish they could take a page from Blizzard book and allow access to XI with your XIV base sub.

Never played FFXI. I would try it if it was included in my sub here though.
It's a very old relic and has a certain charm from that age, but is a bit dense when it comes to gameplay.
If you got a gang or so that wants to level with you (and maybe a game controller to boot), then you should absolutely give it a try.

It's a good game, but also one that won't hold your hand when it comes to quests/missions (which is nice honestly). You accepted to retrive something from some ruins? good, go do it then. NPCs will give you indications about how to reach said place, and maybe which kind of object you'll search, and that's it. No quest log telling you what to do in every step (just some description about the quest itself), no orange circles in the map, no glowing stuff/purple smoke in the floor, no yellow arrows in your compass, no nothing.
I like it because it was like playing Morrowind, where we actually required to pay attention

I like to think to myself that this is what questing without the echo would look like. Also no AOE markers, no real dodging at all, gearswapping and macros are essential, food can make or break your capabilities and relic weapons make the ones here look like freebies. It's a good game, but also one that won't hold your hand when it comes to quests/missions (which is nice honestly). Sometimes I miss it and would love to have a bundle option.
Wasn't FFXI being adapted as a smartphone/mobile game? In which case if it goes ahead and gets a release, then maybe SE might offer some benefit to having a kind of subscription to having both games in one (sub pack) to make it more appealing to customers, whether new or old.

I think that thing is being made by Nexon, so a subscription would probably go through them and not SE. Assuming it ever even happens.Wasn't FFXI being adapted as a smartphone/mobile game? I'd be down for this, though only if it lets me begin again with a new account for FF XI. I'd want to see it all again as if it were a brand new game with a clean slate.

I wouldnt mind revisiting it if I knew I would have everything I did when I last played it which was a bit after the moogle mini DLC thing came out. Issue is it was all through that PlayOnline interface back then and also the amount of time that has passed since I last activated my subscription on it.

That sounds like a good idea, but SQEX has said they won't try it again because it felt like they were devaluing FF11.
Because one is far more successful than the other, it felt like FF11 was being used as an incentive to get people to play FF14, when each game is able to stand by itself on it's own merits and that's something they don't wanna compromise, especially since they still show it love every now and again and want developing for it to stay a good investment.
