These kinds of solutions should be explored and implemented.
If you are struggling to get a house then you would know very well that having enough gil to buy a house is meaningless if there is no house to buy. But I get the impression that you don't care if someone else is in your current position as long as you find a way out of it.

I agree but yours is worse. You're actually advocating for kicking people while they're down just so you can get one of their houses for yourself. That's...off-putting to say the least.

So melodramatic. I don't want to kick people while they are down, or anything like that. I just want an alternative to the current way they handle it. As things are, active players are being punished for something outside of their control. But it doesn't need to be that way.

Yet you continue to state it would be better to turn auto-demo back on because you are personally unaffected by the outbreak or other localized events. (Hurricanes, tornados, tsunamis, etc)

Plenty of people have posted throughout the paused timer that they're thankful they don't have to worry about what they have in a game, when real life has taken off the gloves. To say it's a horrible thing to do because you can't get a house as a result is beyond stupid.

I can understand only caring about yourself and your own personal effects, but to the point of bordering on sociopathy or a straight-up lack of empathy towards anyone? That's a red flag.

So you'd rather punish the people affected by disaster, rather than inconvenience the people who skirted it? Makes sense, because it's much more in the control of the victims than those who were unaffected. I mean, if your house does blow up in a hurricane, you can just line up the library with everyone else who needs to pay their sub, download the game, and load into their house once. After buying the game for PC if you're a console user, of course. Libraries don't have ps4s.

"You were right in Hurricane Laura's path. When you return to the game, you'll find your house in Eorzea is just as gone as your real one. Dw though, 50 mil in the mail! Well, as long as you made it back within 30 days of the hurricane. If you didn't, the money is gone along with every piece of decor you've ever earned. You'll have the house replaced with 1-3 years, next time there's a hurricane, maybe. Keep your fingers crossed for one!"

"Meanwhile you lucky folks who dodged the hurricane. You're rewarded with 3 demolitions today instead of two! That poor sap probably died in the storm anyway. Go move in and make yourself comfortable. No sense in giving the guy 4 months to come back"

This idea lacks both compassion and business sense. Next.
