More wards appear to be coming along with the arrival of new servers but that will be after 5.35 and most likely 5.4.

More wards are great (even more frequent housing turn over with demolition), but ultimately useless, without demolition being enabled. And that was the whole reason I made this thread. Please push for housing demolition to be re-enabled. And ask them not to disable it anymore in the future.

Also re-enable what truly matters. Original pricing.

4,153,497,000g instead of 358M to own a division.
8,306,994,000g instead of 716M to own a full ward

It's almost as if SE meant for it to be this way to prevent the crisis of endless shortages..

So you think swapping a shortage of houses for a shortage of players able to afford a house is a good trade? It's the same thing in the end: players unable to access housing. This won't stop the complaining you're so fond of laughing at. But at least you would still have something to laugh about so it's a win/win situation for you ;D

Never again? Auto-demo halts have been enacted 4 or 5 times, and served the community well every time.

Player retention is very important to ff14. Continued subs mean a continued game. They do this by prioritizing player comfort so you can feel secure on the game. Pausing auto demolition at times when people would disproportionately lose their homes is a compassionate stance that the devs take, which helps players feel secure in the rewards they've earned.

So if you're joking - haha, this is funny. If you're serious, you really need to take a harder look at Yoshi P and the developers outlook on game design, player retention, and ethics in general. "Too bad, so sad, working as intended" is not the way ff14 has made it 7 years of solid growth.

If it's any consolation, the price crashed and the aggressive undercutting makes them sort of unworthy lol, so no need to worry about the melons.

Hope things look up for you soon on the IRL front of things. The game will be here when you get back.

I'm not joking in the slightest. As I've said before, suspending housing demolition is a nice gesture. But it's something that they should have never done in the first place. If I were a victim of some kind of disaster, I wouldn't be at all concerned about anything virtual. Nor would I mind having to repurchase a home in the game. The only change I would like to see is having demolished home items kept recoverable indefinitely, rather than just a few months. This would be trivial to implement. It would balance it out so that demolition isn't such a terrible thing. And those items are the things that are truly hard to replace. Leaving demolition on at all times makes buying a new home easily possible, with a bit a perseverance.

Fair enough if you feel this way but not everyone does (I mean just look at the post about allagan melons) and SE recognise this.

Just because life is going through a rough patch doesn't mean you entirely stop caring about in game assets. For some people their in-game assets are part of their daily lives, and when they daydream about having a normal boring life again then being able to log in at their house could very well be part of that daydream.

I know exactly what it's like to not have a house during a demolition pause because I've been there myself. It sucks. But I never ever thought to essentially say "tough poop to those who can't log in, I want my house". I just waited until it came back on. The only thing that made me anxious was not knowing the exact day demolition would be back, but some lovely people in the forums here helped me out with this.

I'm starting to think you're more concerned about demolition than the fact that every server is going to get over 1000 new houses. It's a bit strange. I didn't have the news of extra wards to look forward to at all during the period when I had no house during a demolition pause.

Well, you have an instance just above of someone disagreeing with you. If they had any intention of turning autodemo back on, the hurricane damage shot that idea dead anyway.

I really don't want to be condescending but you're forcing me here...
Given the current global conjuncture, many people don't have the privilege to pay for a subscription in this game or if that isn't the case, that is their last concern. Out of respect for everybody, the housing auto-demolition has been stopped.
It's just sad to see that you can't even acknowledge this because all you care about is a virtual plot.
