I love housing I decorate my own large and the large FC house every 4-6 months but housing shouldn't be the only reason why you're subbed. If that's the case you should try playing the sims or animal crossing.

ESO's instanced housing system isn't crude.
RIFT's wasn't either (or I suppose still is, far as I know it's still running).
Whenever Wildstar gets mentioned, it's usually to praise its instanced housing system (though it wasn't enough to save the game).
With apartments and even house interiors already instanced, we know this is something that SE can do. It's a question of how far they could improve it if they chose to.
You can't purchase a house unless that already is your home world. You can transfer home worlds without meeting a lot of conditions (including being logged out of the game so your character data can be moved). How about if they made the house watcher npc guy tell you the total number of plots currently available on the datacenter and which worlds they are on. Then if you visit the world with vacant plots and buy one, it automatically changes your home world to that world and waives the transfer fee.
I can also promise you that transfer fees will never be waived just because someone wants to buy a house.
I do admit that having the Housing Enthusiast give a summary of available houses on a data center would be a nice idea. It would save players a little headache when it comes to looking for one.

Why would you ask them to stop the pause XD. Isn't it better people can unsub without losing their house?? LOLDon't really know if anyone who reads this will care, but I thought I'd share before I quit just to highlight how serious this issue is for some people.
So I had previously quit the game with no plans to return, but with the lockdown I figured it was a good way to kill time. First thing I set upon doing was farming enough to get and furnish the house I had always wanted. I ended up getting some lucky drops and earning enough quite quickly, and I was really excited... and then I found out how impossible my goal would be. The very rare occasions when I've actually seen a house on the market these days it is always swarmed by 10+ players, and usually purchased by a relocation (this continues quite a few times as everyone then swarms the house they moved out of).
The system for buying a house was rough around the edges even when it was open, but now it's almost entirely impossible to use. Every day I get to see my wallet and wonder when I might actually get the chance to use it, and that led to asking why I'm even paying to sit in limbo like this. So I guess that's it for me.
