Wow, 36 bucks. With that price tag, I hope it can do stuff no other mount can, because 36 doesn't suit for a mount that is essentially just a repurposed object from ARR.

Note to all the bootlickers who say this is okay: You do realize that this is almost the same price as you paid for Shadowbringers? I couldn't care less about your argument of "development costs"and whatnot.
You already bought the base game, bought the expansions, pay your 12-15 hours sub, pay additional money for more retainers. How the frick is this not enough to pay development costs? The mount, that is now repurposed, was an ARR mount mind you.

I may as well have been talking to a wall, since the cashwhales are immune to reasoning. With that price tag, I would rather go buy a different game or buy Greymoor. Way more valuable than a mount...

But they are bootlickers, anyone buying this mount is.

With this price tag, I want there to be a GTA V style of customization to the mount. As it is worth almost an expansion.

Are people who dine at $200 restaurants, purchase $100 jeans or spend thousands on annual PC upgrades also "bootlickers"? All of those are luxuries in their own way. No one needs to spend $41 on a steak dinner yet they do. Why? Because they have the means and want to indulge. I'll reiterate from my earlier post, if this mount was the only Mogstation someone made all year, it comes out to the cost of two chocolate bars or a single energy drink a month. Not exactly a huge expensive.

Cost is ultimately relative. Someone making $30,000 a year will value things very different than someone earning $200,000. You certainly don't have to like the Mogstation, and can readily criticise SE. But insulting others who don't share your viewpoint is just childish.

This is a false equivalence. Dining at such restaurants has different meanings behind them, since people do it for a wholly different reason (mostly for social status). And why are you comparing buying people spending thousands on PC parts annually to a mount?
With the PC parts you get the immediate and price worthy benefits from it, I have not yet seen that this mount has anything more than what the Fat Moogle mount has (no, 2 extra seats is not enough).

I know about how economy work, those who have a higher salary are also those who spend more, but that is not what I am arguing. What I am arguing is that having 36 dollars for a mount, that does not do anything special or give special features, is completely ridiculous. I would sound completely different if this mount had more to it be it a storyline, garage-like thing (think GTA).

You do realize that 35,99 is 4 dollars short of 39,99, the price of a new expansion pack, filled with content and story.

Or do I need to remind you how price expectations work? I would suggest looking up No Man's Sky for that, since they were an indie game with a AAA price tag.

What? I go to a fine dining restaurant to enjoy the food, the ambient, and sometimes live entertainment, what do you mean mostly for social status.

    You are so biased.

No, it isn't. I purposely listed various luxuries items or activities people spend extra on while others will accuse them of wasting their money. Ironically, you defeated your own argument by justifying my restaurant example. How does spending money for a perceived social status differ from spending it on an in-game item? Both are luxuries you're indulging in because you (hopefully) have the disposable income to afford it. The same applies to Enthusiast PC Builds. You're spending money on a luxury. You not finding value in the chosen luxury is irrelevant, and frankly, none of your business. Plenty of people spend money to feel better. They're not doing it for social clout, bragging rights or anything beyond "this makes me happy." I'm guilty of doing precisely that myself.

    It does not matter.

You keep attaching your subjective value onto other people and their spending decisions. You feel $36 for mount is absurd because of x reason—an opinion you're certainly entitled to have. Someone else doesn't have to share your opinion. They are well aware 6.0 will likely cost only slightly more than the mount in question, or that various steam sales will offer games like Witcher 3, Total War or whatever at comparable or even lower prices. They don't care. Their hypothetical interest is in that mount. And it isn't any of your business how they choose to spend their money.

Just to hammer in this point further. Several people have pre-ordered the Omega M/F statue, myself included. At nearly $400 CAD, I could purchase Shadowbringers nearly eight times over. Cool. I want the statue. That's it. You can inform me a hundred different ways I could spend my money; telling me all this value I'll gain or that x game has story, customization and even makes me breakfast! I, with my own money, still want to purchase the statue.

Should I remind you? Price expectation essentially boils down to what you reasonably expect customers will be willing to pay. And how your prices compare to other retailers. We can throw out the latter immediately as SE is the only retailer. Which leaves us with "willingness to pay." Call me crazy but I think SE has a good idea on this already.

You say that, but my friend who bought the mount immediately got the worthy benefits he wanted from it. A friendly lore mount for his RP character, and a 4-seater to help ferry along his small friend group that's been playing together without having to do E4s. people who go to a restaurant and order expensive food are wasting money when they can always order the cheapest thing on the menu. People who update their computers every single time a new graphics card comes out, spend hundreds of extra dollars snazzing up their PC with lights, etc. are wasting money. People who buy anything from the mogstation are wasting money. The simple difference is that people value things differently. You don't see the value in the mount, many others do however.

You find it absurd, lets be clear on that. Value is inherently subjective. ForteNightShade has already gone into deep depth on it so I won't add much, as they took the words out of my mouth. The people who buy the mount look at the price, think about the benefits, and conclude the value of it is worth the price tag to them. Just because you don't have the same perception of value to them doesn't mean they're wrong or bootlicking.

Just like how one friend likes to teasingly say I'm wasting money on video games, I like to in turn teasingly say he's wasting money on cigarettes and alcohol. If you listed every single thing you spend your money on every month down to the last dollar, I could just as easily find something to tell you you're wasting your money on; yet you chose to spend it on that thing due to your own perceptions and enjoyments.

If the price of something is too high and Square sees decreased sales, they'll re-evaluate their price scheme on similar items. It's simple price vs demand, vote with your wallet and leave others who enjoy the mount to spend money on things they get value from.

Those who complaint don't understand about luxary.

I love your explanation by the way. I work hard so I have disposable income. I've spent $50,000 playing toreba online year 3 years, and I understand to some that's alot of money, but to me it's my entertainment value.
