I'm not sure why people are so against the idea. It can only serve to enhance the experience of newer players - something of a rarity these days. If we want the game to succeed we need to be open to ideas that allow them to socialize while doing what we already have.
If the end result is that they play like crap that's their problem and the problem of whatever shell adopts them without vetting them.
It would also be nice to interactively spend time with friends outside of PL'ing them when they first join.

What makes you think a lot of people level 50s are going to go level sync down to a new person, especially when they are going to raise the level cap. Why would we go level in an old area when a new area will be waiting for us when our levels go up.
People already don't like leveling(grinding) why would they do it a second time if they don't have to?
Just add few new classes, that will fix your issue of "helping" new players out on leveling.
That sucks, man - glad I'm not on your server. It's not uncommon to see people jumping in to help fill two spots to lend a hand for AF. And, in the rare event that someone in our shell needs to grind I'd rather sync down and play with them as opposed to PL'ing via drop method.people now hardly help out with previous content like AF.

Remember - it shouldn't be so much as to whether or not we would use it ourselves, rather those who hopefully join the game. At current subscription numbers it won't make a difference what level you are - there will be no game within a year.
Level sync isn't for level 50s helping out lower level people. Its mainly used for people leveling so people who are higher lvl can group together with lower level people and still get exp.people now hardly help out with previous content like AF.

SE even took it a step farther with Abyssea in FFXI, level gap no longer matters level 30s can play with 99s get the same exp caps. Which lead to non stop Fell Cleave parties. Which was good if you wanted to level very fast.
Yeah, I mean that sounds cool but I don't really think its appropriate for a new game. Level sync was more reasonable.Level sync isn't for level 50s helping out lower level people.
