Desynthesis Fishing Rewards

Was it ever explained as to why they removed glamor items from fishing? I know some people find enjoyment from the skill, because the satisfaction of catching big fish and the relaxation part of it is rewarding enough, but why remove such a good idea? Having swim ware / aquatic related items tied to fishing, would be a good idea in my opinion and loads of items could be added in 5.0 from when the items were first introduced in 2.3 (swimsuits).

Caught four frilled sharks this morning, got two swimsuit tops from desynthsis.

i think OP is more like why was things like rare costumes removed from later big fishing rewards. ARR was about the only set of big fishes that desynthed into swimsuits. the only Stormblood fish i know of that desynths into a gear piece is one from Yanxia that you can get an Onishi Dogi from.

Exactly. Why abandoned what seemed like a good idea? Just one and done unfortunately or maybe it's a business decision to sell on mogstation?

it could be that the way desynthesis worked before the change - CUL desynth wasn't particularly useful past ARR stuffs and since only fish increases CUL desynth levels it was probably seen as too much work for too little reward.

but it could be changed back now that desynthesis has changed. it's just a matter of whether or not the devs want to put rewards behind desynth or not. it seems most good glams are either mogstation or made via treasure dungeon rare mat drops.

It would be nice to get more than basically just sand and crystals from desynthing fish. These days I'm little more than a fish recycler for me and the people I play with that happen to get fish from retainers or something.

Red Hammerheads can desynth into Bluespirit Cross-pein Hammers. I'd like to see more stupid stuff like that.
