Make Raid Gear Matter

Just feels like there is'nt enough reason to get raid gear vs crafted gear, or even the relic/resistance weapons... they basically have the same stats. and crafted gear are so cheap. SE consider making raid gear more desirable. even if they have the same stats but at least give them something special like set bonuses or something since they are or should be the primary goal for all endgame content.

That's a 5% increase in the base damage stat alone, not counting the increases across the board for secondary stats aside from a relatively small loss in crit which can be comensated for by mixing and matching with Augmented Crystarium gear.

490 neo ishgard gear i have on thats crafted is the exact same stats as 490 alliance raid puppet bunker gear... they are the same... so why should i even go into puppet bunker to gear farm if i can spend 100k on the auction house and buy the crafted gear with the same stats?

All i am saying is make raid gear matter... it feels like they dont matter unless you are farming savage content.

Oh, you meant 24-p gear. Gear drops from those is always just for glamour and aren't part of gear progression unless you don't participate in Savage content in which case they're a sideway progression that gives you substat options.

The actual ilvl progression reward from 24-p content comes from the weekly token for completion. Upgrading tomestone gear using the weekly completion token will give you last patch's i500 gear which will be better than your crafted stuff. You can also achieve this upgrade with Eden's Verse savage tokens or Clan Nutsy hunt tokens if so inclined instead.

thanks for the insight ma dude... I dont claim to be a pro in understanding the gearing system... but I have a basic idea.. just wish they gave the raid gear more than just stat increases... set piece bonuses would be interesting too... like the grand company set bonuses. just wish the gear were exciting and not just the same boring flat stat increase.

I used to collect 24-man raid gear when I didn't level my crafters and didn't want to spend hundreds of thousands of gil on gearsets. It's useful for those who aren't as hardcore and don't do all content.
