That's disappointing but an easy way to fix it is to be mindful and respectful of newcomers' time. They deserve to explore and enjoy the content too. It will only slow down the dungeon by a few minutes, but the enjoyment they get out of it could be double or even triple than if they were forced to rush ahead.

I can't speak for anybody else but my first run of a dungeon I always take it slow. With only one new dungeon per patch these days it's always tied to the MSQ so I try to get the most out of it I can. After that, it depends on the party, but given most parties have top-end gear there's no harm in sprinting through (and nobody ever complains unless you've got a green healer in Aurum Vale).
People rush through dungeons because of the nature of the game - as an MMO, you get some mileage out of content but then it becomes a chore. If 5.4 isn't released until later in the year (Nov - Dec) as rumored, Akademia Anyder will have been on EX Roulette for almost an entire year; there's only so many times you can run it and still care about anything other than the rewards at the end. The same goes for any piece of content - I mean no disrespect to newbies, but I don't care about Brayflox' Longstop anymore because I've done it a dozen times in every role. There's nothing new to see, so I'm more interested in getting it done.
(That said if I'm playing a DPS class I have no room to complain, since green tanks and/or healers will slow the thing down regardless... but I digress.)

But what about the new players? They're more interested in exploring and enjoying the content. The worst culprit is the Praetorium where everything dies in seconds after watching a minute-long cutscene. It was anticlimactic and if people slowed down new players will actually be able to enjoy that dungeon like it was truly an epic final dungeon!I can't speak for anybody else but my first run of a dungeon I always take it slow. Few dungeons I run have new players anymore, and of those that do few ask me to slow down. But what about the new players? They're more interested in exploring and enjoying the content. It comes down to a conflict of interest. I don't mind pulling slow if someone asks me, but if the rest of the party rushes through and picks up mobs my duty as a tank is to keep them from dying, so I do just that. When I see that some folk don't care, I'm left with little choice but to rush because if I don't they're going to get their impatient selves killed. Nobody ever makes that request though, and given this game's MO is to rush through everything as fast as possible I assume the party is OK with that.
(Enjoyment also can't be quantified, and not all new players care about exploring the areas. Some just want to get to raids ASAP and don't give a lick about the story.)
Yes, Praetorium gets it worst. I had that issue when I started playing 2 months after ARR released. It sucks, but it is what it is.

This. VERY MUCH THIS!But what about the new players? They're more interested in exploring and enjoying the content. I'm a new player. I see the majority of people arguing with OP are not new players... makes sense. Anyway..
As a new player I groan when having to q for MSQ dungeons because I know that people will just run through it with me not having any idea of what is going on. I've started googling the dungeons before or while i'm waiting on the dps Q... which, while may be considered awesome of me for the rest of the group, is actually not that great. I get exposed to the spoilers.. the dungeon is no longer engaging.. and I spend a lot of the time just chasing after the rest of the party.
Enter Praetorium: My first experience with this was just plain awful. Naturally I managed to die after stepping out of a cutscene and not at all sure where the rest of the party went to. I then proceeded to try my best to run back and catch up with the group, but every 5 seconds or less a new cutscene was triggered.. it was a mess. And instead of being cool the group decided to flame me for my death and say "well why dont you run on back then?" Oh.... I'll get right on that.. can you pleas stop advancing the dungeon?!
Its not fun. Not fun at all. And its not SEs fault. Maybe a little for imposing a dungeon grind on end game or whatever is happening (see... remember... I'm a new player)I really don't know what end game is like yet. But you guys, as players, can really add to the not so fun feeling of the dungeon system for the new players. Its like everyone assumes the sprout is a lie. ITS NOT! There are SOOOOO many new players in this game and everyone acts as if there are none. My FC has a crap ton of new players... SMH
THANKS TO ALL OF YOU WHO TOOK THIS THREAD SERIOUSLY. >_<

Some diehard vets in this game alarm-clock all patches, bum rush through the story, complete all NM raids and even EX trials on day one by midnight. If you get in the way of their schedule, it's going to get nasty.
Day two, even if they already did that new expert dungeon, if you slow them down with single pulls, you're going to feel the wrath. You're getting in the way of their 2pm meet up to farm the newest EX trial.
Never mind they might still end up wiping for hours in a 'farm' still cause there are the barely-clearers that make farming a chore as the days go by.
I can go on if you'd like!
Exactly my point. People rush too quickly in this game even if it's their first time. Some diehard vets in this game alarm-clock all patches, bum rush through the story, complete all NM raids and even EX trials on day one by midnight. If you get in the way of their schedule, it's going to get nasty.

Different strokes for different folks. Everyone has different goals, your way of approaching things is just as valid as another player approaching it wanting to get it done as fast as possible.
There are players who love the story, there are players who couldn't care less about any game's story. Some players optimize their rotations to get higher DPS, others learn their jobs "good enough" for the content they want to play. Some hardcore raid, some craft, some are here just for community interaction, others play for story and lore, etc. Some like to kick back and take things slow in a dungeon, others like to complete things as fast as possible.
Edit:
The problem with Prae now is that by that point everyone is so overgeared that the dungeon is trivialized. I've been playing for 7 years now (a bit longer if I include the short time I had in 1.X), and it was pretty epic back when everyone was ilvl 45-70 and most groups had at least half the party being new. Over time, however, as ilvls increased and new players were fewer, it became too easy and Prae became the most efficient for tome farming. The only thing that made Prae long was the cutscenes, and they were skippable. Fast forward to when they disabled cutscene skipping, new players get to enjoy the cutscenes as they happen now. But that can't stop the efficient players from doing their thing. It sucks, but it's a byproduct of the dungeon's design (which was never repeated due to the controversies it created). But what about the new players? They're more interested in exploring and enjoying the content. The worst culprit is the Praetorium where everything dies in seconds after watching a minute-long cutscene. When i joined to the game i was watching the first cutscene in The Praetorium when my team was already killing the last bosses there. In the past cutscenes were skippable and i can say that it was way worse than it is now especially if you wanted to follow the storyBut what about the new players?
