Why not just base MP recovery/tick on a player's base MP instead of their base and bonus MP from gear?
If it's the MP regen rate that's an issue, why not change the MP regen algorithm instead of keeping one type of materia useless?
The developers should be aware that in most slots, players would rather increase their cure potency by a massive 10% or damage per nuke by 10% rather than recover "7 MP."
It may not be horrible, but it's not useful comparatively. Manathirst and Lifethirst need a huge boost. Even if the developers think that they're decent, no one is using them and no one will use them.
I think the reason the developers are saying the Manathirst MP regen is okay is because they know the BIG PICTURE. We will not be level 50 forever. Right now, I don't care about Manathirst because, quite frankly MP is not a big issue for me. So it could be a 25% refresh rate and I'd still choose upping my cures or base nuke damage over my MP pool. Afterall, it's not the size of the pool, but what you do with it.
However, around level 70, this might be a whole different story. We as players just don't know everything that the devs know when it comes to balancing out the game/classes/jobs for the future.
Consider them as "Junk"![]()
Exactly. It's possible to base the percentage off of the players base MP instead of the max, but keep the actual regen amount roughly the same as it is now.
