It could simply be that it's gotten more boring lately.
I played FFXIV constantly for 4 years and then I started getting the "Meh" feeling.
Took a break for 2 years and returned shortly before 5.3 but I still feel "Meh" and probably gonna stay off once I've grinded the Yo-Kai.
One can't expect everyone who's done something for X amount of time to still feel the same joy about it.
So you're going to stop playing forever, but not before grinding an event? Sounds like a weak excuse, my friend. I'm sure you'll be back or find another reason to stay. Otherwise you'd just leave.

I never said forever.
I just don't find the enjoyment or logging in every day all weeks.
The Yo-Kai at least gives me that reason to do so for now.
I'll probably log in once in a while incase people call me on Discord if I can tag along on something or if they are doing something and I think it would be fun to tag along.
Other then that I tend to jump back during expansions and/or updates to check the new stuff before I don't have much else to do again.
I do the same thing with WoW as well and other MMOs. There's no reason to simply stay with 1 game and dedicate your whole being to it. That's just stupid imo when there's so much else to experience.
Back on topic though; can't expect people to still feel the same joy after X amount of time.
So that the game is boring now doesn't mean he thought it was as boring before.
I just wanted to add myself as an example that things don't stay the same forever.

I get where you're coming from. What used to be new and entertaining just...isn't anymore. It's quite common I would think. It's funny that we would be talking about something serious like burn-out on an obvious and stupid troll thread, but that's another day on the official forums for you.
If I may offer something constructive: I would ask you to come back for 5.3.5 for the release of the Bozja battlefield content. It sounds like you enjoy grinding and that type of Eurekan-style content may just be what you want. There are a lot of people who really enjoy a good grinding, but outside of crafter and gatherer content (something not everyone enjoys), you're not likely to find it right now.
While we're talking to the gaping void that is the forums, I would love it by the next expansion that the exploratory/battlefield/w.e it's called content to be released earlier than more than halfway in the expansion's life. I get why the Restoration got first dibs since there hasn't been a lot of new, major content for DoL/DoH, but with the foundation set and can be easily updated, I would hope they prioritize DoW/DoM content by 6.x. I'd even take the Eurekan route of x.2.5, SE.
EDIT: fixed a few grammar mistakes

I do think on trying it out. But I'm not the same grinder I once used to be.If I may offer something constructive: I would ask you to come back for 5.3.5 for the release of the Bozja battlefield content. I'm mostly doing the Yo-Kai right now because I got little to do in general so I just put on some music and try not to think about what I am doing but just grind it out to keep me busy. -haha-
But yeah, the Bozja Battlefield sounds interesting. I never delved into Eureka, just unlocked it but never did anything with it. Mostly because it was around the start of my break from FFXIV.
I know, right. -haha- Why my first post was short and simple.
