there could also be an option to choose which content distresses you and which you wanna be warned about
Player

could, you know- skip cutscenes
I wonder if this is relevant again after people are finding the Garlemald cutscene upsetting!!!
I suggest Animal Crossing for those who get anxious from Final Fantasy cutscenes.
I mean come on.
Not only did this thread get necro'd, but it's also the dumbest possible thread imaginable.
There's not even any blood animations in this game.
Meanwhile, there's games without trigger warning, where you observe soldiers getting their brains shot out of their skull during the first cutscene.
This is like buying Halo and then complaining that aliens are scary.

The one scene where a character takes their own life(not saying who or when or what out of respect for spoilers) filled me with absolute dread. I wish I had a warning before witnessing the cutscene. Suicide is a sensitive topic for me. :/

Allow me to introduce the fabulous resource that is Does The Dog Die?
Assuming you're okay with spoilers, then checking this out for whatever piece of media you're anxious about consuming can help (although it's worth waiting a bit after a new release, as the trigger warnings are crowdsourced).
The page for FFXIV is here: https://www.doesthedogdie.com/media/15111
I think this is petty. We can't expect every form of media to warn people about things that may make individuals feel uncomfortable. Typically those things are in x form of media to make you feel uncomfortable. I know this may sound unreasonable to you, but you should not expect this from any form of media with the exception of things like flashing lights that can cause seizures. You are meant to go through emotions when consume media.
Best example if your Titania complaint. While you may want a trigger warning for a jump scare, that ruins the jump scare for everyone as now everyone knows there is a jump scare coming up in this scene.
For those saying look at the ESRB rating, there is media that is PG that alludes to darker things that older people would understand vs children so the rating really does not matter much in this case.
My solution would be to essentially not expect special treatment due to your specific phobias or anxiety triggers. You will never be able to avoid these things 100% and the sooner you understand this the better you may handle these phobias and triggers.
Note: I am not a psychologist this is just from my personal experience dealing with anxiety.
honestly just offer it as a toggle, so people without these kind of problems go on like allways and those that think such a warning would help them get a short rundown of potential triggers before cutscenes where they can make up their mind beforehand if they want to see the big scary spider or whatever, wouldn't really hurt anyone like that.
