You sure you have the same subscription plan?
There are two different subscription plans, one for around 11€ for less character slots and one for around 14€ for mor character slots.
If you are on the second plan while your friend uses the first plan the difference would be logical.
Also you get a huge discount for buying bigger packs of playtime.
