That's just it, though, it's several accounts and every account is effectively a player. Several players owning a ward is the system working as intended. I get that buying 8+ accounts and buying a ward is highly visible, but it's not against the rules.

SE could consider limiting each real life person to one account, but then they'd lose money to enforce that. The simple fact is, SE is happy to take the money for a second account, and SE is obliged to hold that second account as a separate player.
