My guy, you are not alone in your thinking and its not just gladiator, for me anyways. Idc if its wishful thinking; I wish archer either stayed archer with none of the brd stuff. Maybe become Ranger/Sniper later and use crossbows with using poaching traps or deal extra dmg depending on how far you're shooting your target.

Going back to gladiator, I envision it as this colloseum style gladiator, with skills like throwing nets, javelin spike, using chains, tossing dirt (blinding your opponent). You know, like a really gritty fighter, combating his/her opponent tooth and nail.

Oh well, we can always dream...
