honestly, i just return subscribe 2 days ago just for this event and to enjoy the fun... now i kinda regret it, its better to support steam/valve...

i know, i know people will say... if you see drk cast aoe why dont roll drk

thats just plainly stupid statement....

now with flying in arr... this event become more no fun at all

It's not really any different from past events that involved fate grinding. Personally, I didn't find it particularly fun before and I still don't now. The only reason I'm still doing this event is because obtaining the required medals is relatively fast, except for yours Shogunyan...dear lord that was rough. Either way, such is life when it comes to grinding fates. They seem heavily invested in this system so I don't see them going anywhere.

Wouldn't even limit it to FATE grinding. This is true of basically all content day/week 1. Literally everything is chaotic at the start, full of players trying to rush through.

The lesson here is, if you don't enjoy the chaos, just wait until the chaos dies down. The event will be active for months. Come back next month when all the rushers have had their fill, and you'll find an entirely different landscape.

It's a marathon, not a sprint. You only have yourself to blame if you're tripping over everyone right out of the gate.

I won't say anything like this, I will say instead that maybe you should wait about 2 weeks before starting the event. We may like it or not, but players community tends to rush every single content we have here (and then whine after that they have nothing to do after being online for straight 48 hours without sleeping, but that's another topic). After initial hype falls down, there will be just few people running around doing the fates, and the closer it will be to 5.4, the lesser will be the amount (with another activity explosion right before new patch drops). Going into fates right now is equal to dooming yourself to see them being finished in 10 seconds. It's always like with every single event we have (and it was like this for 1st and 2nd Yokai-Watch runs as well), and I doubt there is anything we can change about it, because developers cannot change the way players consume the content without placing very hard restrictions like "playing 10 hours per day at max" and "can get only this amount of medals per day", which.... is a solution, but imagine the uproar if it ever happens, considering that people don't like weekly/daily restrictions as it is already.

Thinking you can solo Fate's during and event that requires players to farm them will just not happen. The event will go until 5.4 drops but you are not having it nearly as rough as players who can't yet fly in ARR zones.

This is rough. I have an alt that I was hitting up FATEs with to level Grand Company ranks but they don't have flying yet. I've pretty much given up on doing FATEs that don't spawn right in front of me.

I'll live, of course, it's just kinda funny seeing locusts descend on the map suddenly.

The Yokai Watch event isn't the only thing in the game. In fact I skip the event every time it comes to FFXIV. There's so much other stuff that you could be doing you might as well forget the event is even a thing.

I can always imagine players seething, staring at their screens while screaming and bashing their hands on their desk as they would a steering wheel's horn because they can't get what they want the way they want it.

I say the same as i did in FC chat, there are 4 months or smt till the next patch hits MONTHS. If you decide to rush it now then its your choice... Its the same as on Hunt trains which go full speed atm and wont wait for anyone or anything - just do smt else and give it some weeks^^

Wait about a week, event will die off, zerg will be gone, most will prolly move on into the ishgard stuff.
