As mentioned earlier, Hien suffers from the same problem - and there wasn't a pandemic during Stormblood. Mysteriously, such issues also never seem to emerge when it comes to the textures of female characters - who typically seem to look fine in cutscenes from every possible angle.

They might have used all of their high quality pixels on something else of Hien's. WINK WINK

I’d love that myself but Yoshi said that it would require a massive amount of work which would take the place of an expansion, it’s that resource intensive. Now it’s possible to hire a new art team just for that task, there will be tens of thousands of item to recreate and that will take years to create.
