    What are the gil sinks in this game?

    Title states it all. I am not rich by any means, I am poor. But I am leveling my crafters and aside from the 25000 for a level 5 item, to under cut to 500 (hate those people) I am slowly beginning to make money.

    But as the people who are gil capped - what do you spend your money on? You got the mansions, the fancy gear, shiny toys. What do you rich people do with all your money?

    im in the top 10 richest people in ff14 probably (i've never seen anyone with 2m gil like me) and honestly i mostly just spend it on repairs XD

    I'm not gil capped (always floating between 15-20m) but even if I was, there's hardly anything I want to spend money except on expansion day, when I'm leveling DoH/DoL. The last biggest buy was the urban coat on week 3 of its release.

    There's just nothing in the game right now to motivate me to make more money or spend it.

    There are no major gil sinks in the game.

    Housing and housing decorations can eat up quite a bit of gil, but that is mostly a one-off spending.
    Teleports and repairs eat up some gil, but not all that much unless you overdo it.
    Overmelding materia can eat up a whole lot of materia that some people will buy from the MB.
    Buying HQ-crafted gear is a quick way of gearing up, if you don't want to get your gear through dungeon runs.
    Some glamour items can be surprisingly expensive if you buy them.

    But all in all, unless you waste your money it will slowly accumulate over time.

    Yeah. I'd say housing probably takes the most money out of rich player's pockets.

    The ones that probably control the gil the most overall are fees like teleportation or MB taxes.
