I feel, if they took the general level of depth and thought that is in most of the 60 to 70 spells (spells released at those level caps) and brought it to the whole job, to the vast majority of spells, that includes those found in the open world, it would be overall far more enjoyable experience for a far wider range of players.

BLU is 'eh' in ways (before and still-ish- at least when progressing without FOTM/dedicated group, though I feel they've done a lot to make it better), imo, as you're getting one cool spell at like 20 (1k needles) that you spam OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER until you get ram or something, and then you continue to have a hyper spammy job unless you get the instance spells, because the vast majority of the easier to obtain non-instance spells are hyper basic and relatively fair to consider them 'boring'. Now with Basic Instinct you can get the vast majority of spells instanced and not solo now, which is pretty cool and a right step for the job, but you still have to, in most cases, go to cap so you can then unsync basic instinct content (which means spamming instances with a really boring kit so you can earn the much cooler spells, but you've also at a "chance" to earn those skills as you spam with a boring kit). Overall it's just a bunch of UUUUGGGHHH unless you've friends, and then for a lot of people the job is probably going to have a different light (I hear better things from those who had the groups available to them when they needed them for key opportunities). Issue being friends on demand, or more likely PF, is more luck unless you're all hardcore on all the time or have nice line up of schedule and desire - PF does happen but more specifically around FOTM (flavor of the moment, like when the job is updated, and as new skills are added that FOTM is going to get farther away from what the lower level blues need so that FOTM isn't going to help as much as time goes on). Overall the job needs, imo, to be far more interesting far earlier and without any dependence on PF. That doesn't mean there can't be some opportunities for fun with PF, but the job from the beginning should be thought of outside the box of PF as PF is unable to sustain the job in any meaningful long-term way (short term, yes, also supplement meaningfully also yes, but sustain the entire weight of the job, definitely not).

Of course someone might just say "why don't you just make it normal then. . . " lol. Personally both would be cool (totally the have and eat your cake option, of course one would like that lol), and the job is certainly becoming a powerful opportunity to solo some old content - given the whole unsync will become less powerful comment for our next expansion (due to rebalance) I feel blue mage could step into that role of 'clean up' (as in some cases already the case, that's what people are using the job for already- it's a natural fit). So I've hope they're either going to go both, or they're going to hopefully improve the steps up to cap in the limited form (because you can now make those steps, thanks to basic instinct but it's regretfully not that great of a journey, exception to FOTM / co-player schedules that line up to you (certainly circumstantial / luck based). Other thoughts of course too, like imo, basic instinct to help reduce the amount of absolute heal spam you'll need to do (not to the point you're indestructible, but currently there are a few moments where it's, imo, way too much self management which reduces opportunity to get into a better flow state since going back to heal too often will disjoint your other activities, but of course you don't want too strong that you're never thinking about self, so doesn't need to be a massive buff but I think a small baked in buff or perhaps a few new self sustain skills that do that job), or when basic instinct is active making Angel Whisper act as auto-raise (A. could be quite helpful, for balance the skill could instantly bring you to health so you don't massively ruin the coding for boss AI and it all breaks, but B. just want to see Angel Whisper at least have the opportunity to not be a budget / worse than other jobs raise). Etc.

I think they're listening to feedback, or I hope, as I feel the changes early on with potency, learn rates, etc, and especially the later released 60 - 70 spells were example of them listening, their design style shifted a bit and seem to be overall just better skills suited to be interesting longer term and generally just very very strong (rather than weak blips in the moment like many besides a few key earlier skills). So.. Hopeful, but certainly unsure.
