Heh, I had a player mad at me for killing things too quickly on blue. For the next fate I just auto-attacked, but still they complained that I was nuking. They saw a Blu and just assumed it HAD to be the Blu causing fates to go down quickly, and not the million player death ball.

There is a happy middle ground, imo. I wouldn't have done this event if I couldn't use Blu. It is not an exploit. But by the same token if there are a lot of people in the map moving around as a unit I wait until people show up to nuke anything. Same thing I did on my tanks for achievement fates, slowing down to give people a chance for a pickup. Or if possible I'd do enough to know I'd get gold and then fly off leaving the fate healthy for people to get credit. Don't actually have to stick to it.

These two things aren't mutually exclusive. You can both understand that it isn't cheating but also have some compassion for fellow players. If you do run into issues, take it up with the devs - they are the only ones that can change anything.

I started doing the FATES as BLU yesterday (which I did not bother to finish leveling before) to kill 2 chocobos with one lalafell.
Don't know why people would need to use super strong skills for these FATES though. Been only using the 2 ram voices and I am pretty sure I always had gold ranks.

It is going to be a while. Y'all need to put out them fires in your britches and realize that ALL that giant ball of fate murder is going to die down really quickly, likely within a couple weeks. Last time the event was out it was the same dead fate wasteland it's always been toward the middle of its run.


This is a lot of noise and fuss about something that's going to be a non-issue very soon.

Rolled a new character to check out the story revamp and, yeah, this event is currently pretty terrible for those who are new to the game. First off, you may not even have a mount yet, never mind one that can fly. Then, assuming you can even get to the FATE before it's zerged to death, you may not even have any AoE abilities to even tag anything. More advanced players using BLU just makes this even worse.

I'm lucky, I guess, because I know what's going on and don't really care all that much personally about the event but this has to be a pretty bad look for those who aren't in the know and/or are truly new to the game. Sure the zerg fest will likely subside in a couple of weeks but that's still a crappy message for new players. "Hey, you might be excited for this event but sit there and be quiet while the big boys get to play."

I'm not saying players shouldn't fly or ride mounts or should abstain from using BLU, just try to be considerate if you can.

Yes, that's why they also made sure BLU couldn't break the balance of FATEs. Oh wait...

You can quote a 1000 quotes and it still doesn't contradict the fact that the devs haven't made changes regarding that since BLU's introduction. It's. Not. Broken. Neither. An. Exploit.

That comment was in why it's a Limited Job and couldn't do instanced content with other players. This is not instanced content.

Mostly cause nobody was doing fates anyway. xD Now that the new stuff is hot all the lazy people who didn't pushed their blue will cry for a while and next week all zones are ded again like usual. But oh boy we need to do something about this horrible bluemage masacre now cause players have it maybe harder for some days to farm fates.

Being considerate is one thing and thats fine to ask. But more and more people are becoming belligerent about BLU even existing. See the other thread which is literally "Dont allow limited classes to do event." Which is exactly what I pointed out was the end result of all this foolishness. And yeah, youre spot on. Having a flight mount gives you a hard advantage over people who dont have one, or having AoE abilities. But lets not worry about that and keep saying BLU is the problem.
