I just wait a few weeks before starting the event.
With my maxed out BLU I 1 hit half of the fates and for the other half I have some friends joining me.

Why should I stress myself now and then complain in a few weeks that I have nothing more to do.
People need to learn to chill a bite more.

Ok i've seen the BLU casting it.
No need for a tank when BLU1.

For fast farming you can go to the north of outer la noscea in the mines, theres 2 fates that spawn back to back infinitely, Full Metal alchemist and making the rounds (think thats what its called), with BLUs you can clear both these fates in 1 gcd so you can clear multiple fates a min.

So far I've only had one person ask me to stop being blu, but honestly its not like playing blu is a reportable offense so I'll just keep doing it, got 4 weapons in half an hour, feels good.

People's impatience isn't a flaw in the system the developers need to address.

You want to do it now, you deal with the cons of that. You decide to rather pace yourself, you won't have a hard time getting your FATEs done. You can also run FATEs at off hours, when there's less people offline.

I see valid cons with:
- "can't see NPC on day one with all players on him/her!"
- "new glam expensive at day one!"
... but facing BLU advantage?

And again: "play when they're gone/done"?!

Should I wait to play and come back in a week, I'll meet BLUs again and they'll tell me: "you had the time to do it! Now let me do it my way!"
Those BLUs will have waited to do it their way. Should I wait more again?

Seemed much easier this time around. Already done and got my couch in 4 hours of mostly solo grinding FATE's. I wanted to jump in and get my grind done before unruly mob woke up and made it a living hell to grind fates by buffing HP 10,000x over and ganking fates left and right from each other. Glad I did cuz every hour that passed it was harder to find zones and servers that didn't have a group messing things up. Whew.

EDIT: Couch mount is pretty unimpressive. No unique music, no mount action, doesn't glow and do anything special when it flies. Whisper-a-go-go was much more interesting. Oh well, still silly.
