I'm not certain it's that much of an absolute. I agree they won't take them away as long as the system remains as it is. If they did a major overhaul of the housing system that affected ownership of every house (possible if unlikely), the grandfather clause could be removed as part of a system reset.

Firstly agreed that housing needs a revamp especially on these people who own multiple personal an FC houses..

2nd nb4 a certain someone with a main chr name comes in to insult everyone, while owning a tag showing around 30 houses.

I will never understand why people feel they need more then 1 fc and 1 personal house. I can perfectly understand if you got alts and one or more of them inherit a FC with a house. But intentionally going out and using the FC system to obtain more...I don't get it.

Houses represent gil income between gardens and FC workshops if you're playing daily to stay on top of them.

More housing spaces mean being able to create more unique decorating designs without having to rip down old designs you liked.

I get wanting more. I'd love to have more myself (why I hope for an instanced system because that could accommodate multiple houses per character).

But there are people who care nothing for rules or for others. All that matters to them is getting what they want and they'll do anything to get it. Housing is hardly the only area of the game filled with exploiters and cheaters. But it is the one portion of the game that's a limited resource and that attracts those who thrive on possessing things that others are denied.

Gil and more houses. FC houses are gil generating assets.
The first would not be an issue if SE delinked the workshop from FC housing.

Like every other poster has said:
-Multiple personals on one world is no longer possible, you can currently only buy one personal house per account per world
-SE will never take the step being suggested here, where they forcefully divest players of their grandfathered houses
-If any grandfathered player lets their houses auto-demolish, they will never be able to re-purchase personal housing for those alts

I'm not sure why this thread mentions "FC housing is fine, no issues there." Currently anyone can acquire up to 8 FC houses per account. So if people are concerned about multiple house ownership, I would think that concern would be rooted in the fact that any account can legitimately own 9 houses currently.

So what your saying is that we need to start playing dirty to remove these players houses when they own more then one..

So we could do a sit-in once demolition comes back.. we flood a ward owned by one person so that the instance is full and keep everyone out for a month.. or flood the inside of the houses if unlocked an keep the person from entering to refresh the timer..

If these players wanna play dirty an hoard entire wards with the GMs not doing anything then its up to the players to play just as dirty an remove the option for them.

What I'm saying is the only way to use a house wrong is to not enter it for 45 days. At that point, auto-demolition will take it away from you. People shouldn't concern themselves with how their neighbors are using their plots. SE knows we need more housing, and have said it is their aim to launch mode before patch 5.4.

The investment into a large house + submarines and the seeds to start crossbreeding are regained by those systems in a couple months, for ~5-10 minutes of upkeep per day.

FC Houses are the single best ROI in ff14 if you're active.

And what happens if the FC that likes being on somewhere like Cactuar wants to find a home?

I'm not the one who's attacking other players here, I'm looking for a way to better optimize housing distribution so that more can enjoy it because housing is such a scarce resource.

And if you perceive that to be an attack on you (or your playstyle), then that's a problem that exist solely in your head.

1. If an FC wants to find a house on Cactuar, then they, as an FC. Should put in the time and effort to get one. Yes, it's going to be hard and yes, it's going to be frustrating. But to that end, if you TRULY want an FC house (or a house in general) then you need to work for it, as it won't just be handed to you for free. Keep in mind that several other people also want a personal house / FC house and are going to be vying for the same plot you are. The housing system as a whole certainly could do with an upgrade or a revamp, but pointing your aggression to other players who decide to use empty plots that nobody has shown interest in obtaining is the wrong way to do it. They aren't the problem, nor will calling them out change that.

2. You consistently trying to tell others that the system needs to be fixed by punishing house-hoarders can indeed be perceived as an attack, as you are trying to start a witch-hunt on 0.1% of the playerbase that have the ability to hoard houses, yet your justifications for trying to start said witch-hunts are baseless at best. I can regale you with the first few weeks (up to a month) of me finally getting a private house, in one of the most undesirable locations in the goblet and paint you a nice picture about this community and its intentions.

After camping in the goblet for upwards of 3 hours or so (it was like.. 5AM GMT, so pretty damn early in the morning for US players) and I was with five or six other players, all vying for the same placard. Yet when I got "Plot Purchased" on my screen, only one of those players congratulated me for being a new house owner, rather than a relocator. The other five? Berate me with "Great, another bot got the plot" or demanding I relinquish because THEY want the plot more than I do. Followed by several weeks of death threats, harassment and actual griefing outside of my house. It only stopped once I got the GMs involved.

This community doesn't care about being nice, nor does it care about "feelings". If I have what you want, then I can easily expect you to foam at the mouth and try to paint a target on my back to try and get me to relinquish it, so you can get the chance, rather than try again. Something that only the housing community seems to do. As i've said before, savage/ultimate raiding teams don't need to put up with this stuff, nor do crafter/gatherers or ANY other type of player, for that fact. It's only when it comes to a virtual chunk of space in a video game that people take off their masks and show their true selves.

They aren't hurting anyone with what they're doing. They are simply enjoying the game in a different way to you. Don't demonize and vilify them, when plenty of the hoarders (the one on mateus especially) are nice people, once you talk to them. Coming late to the party doesn't give you the right to complain that all the food is gone. You knowingly came late.
