    Please stop adding so many "one and done" solo instances.

    Seriously, it's time to stop. These might be easy to make and don't so much development time to make, but I think the fact that they're only doable once make them basically worthless in the long run.

    Not to mention the fact that I play this game to have fun with other people. You know, like a multiplayer game should do. Playing these solo instances is fun and all, but feels kind of empty compared to all the other multiplayer content in the game.

    After having so many solo instances that are 10+ minutes long (some even nearing the 20 minute mark), I'm left wishing we could have had a dungeon or *something* else in it's stead. Quick solo duties are fine every once in a while, but to have them that are considerably long being released consistently.... I highly disagree with this decision.

    Those solo duties?
    I think they are well balanced in game, I hardly recall any of them that takes 20 min.
    Also, good to make the pace more dynamic...
    If all duties have a waiting for group timer, if you are not tank/healer, would end up make people give up.

    I just wish there was a way to replay them (outside of doing New Game + and having to replay the entire damn game). Some of them are really fun with lots of flavor text and background fluff floating around you might miss on the first time.

    The one in the Vault comes to mind, aswell as the MCH job quest game

    Biggest examples I can think of at the moment are (spoilers)

    The one in The Tempest where Elidibus is showing you your journey throughout the game and you are fighting all the enemies you've fought before, then fighting Elidibus himself

    The there's the other one where you go into Cid's head and experience that solo duty, which was also very lengthy.

    I just think that the devs think these are fun and that they'll keep adding more and more solo instances to the game, replacing them with dungeons and other activities that are actually fun.

    Also, I haven't done Sapphire Weapon yet, but I suspect it's about the same length as the above mentioned solo duties.

    honestly i'd just like the option to replay them properly--especially the sapphire weapon stuff (hopefully we see some more mech content in the future not that it exists), some of those solo instances are super fun, and it's a real shame you cant replay them (and 'one-and-done' as OP calls it is also a big waste of dev time and work when comparing time in to user experience out)

    You realize that the amount of effort it took to make the Elidibus solo instance is nowhere near the effort it would take to make a full dungeon. For one thing, there were literally zero new assets for it, while a dungeon requires modelling the level, modelling new enemies, new effects, possibly new gear, etc etc.

    Aside from maybe the Sapphire weapon fight, the grand majority of solo instances require very little effort to make aside from combat mechanics, so they definitely aren't taking assets away from full dungeons.

    I don't know why they are giving us less dungeons and stuff this expansion, but I'd be more likely to blame the new crafting/gathering content over solo instances. Or maybe Squeenix just isn't funding them enough.
