    Tunnelvisioning and healing

So I am bringing this up as an interest to see if anyone else has the same problem that i have from time to time. I go into a dungeon to heal and due to the lack of healing on some fights (slow pull groups and bosses) i end up tunnelvisioning on pressing 1 button due to monotony. This sometimes makes me forget to heal until the very last minute when i realize (this so far has not caused a death). Does anyone else have this issue currently?

Yes actually. Many healers have complained of lack of interest and not realising player hp due to the monotony of healing currently enabling things like this in most content

Its always been a problem amongst more skilled healers, but because of how easy healing is, everybody experiences this now.

I don't have this problem unless I'm messing with cards too much on AST. Also I think having 1 button to spam makes it easier to not tunnel vision as a healer.

tunnelvisioning may be the wrong word to use when i made the post, i think i meant more like zoning out.

I have my party window closer to my other UI elements so I always have the HP and so on in view. So it doesn't happen THAT often, but I still know what you mean.

I very occasionally "zone out" in very heal-intensive situations though, few as they are, like in a big pull that drags on so long that I have to resort to Cure II spam and don't notice when there's only 1 enemy left. xD Like I could have continued to DPS a few GCDs earlier, but just kind of tunnel visioned.

Going to agree on this point- I think the default UI is not very good due to how spread out all of the information is. I recommend, to anyone who hasn't done so already, to play around with your UI. Anything related to combat (most notable examples are how party, target, and buff/debuffs are scattered from the rest of your info) should all be gathered up in one place, and anything not immediately relevant (Duty window, main menu buttons, exp/gil) can either be hidden with macros or shrunken down / tossed into a corner / given transparency.
It's UI, so your personal preferences reign supreme over any suggestions I make, of course- maybe I should be saying "try gathering this stuff up" instead of saying "it should be like this..."

I occasionally have this issue. I tend to keep my eye on the boss, and the HP bar over the tank while DPSing though, and I do find the big beefy windups for most tankbusters serve as a reminder to check how my buddy is doing. *prods DRK corpse with a stick* Doing alright there buddy?

Happens to me all the time, even after years doing it.

DPSing as a healer has always been boring for me, and if the content can't pummel peeps enough, I'm going to fall asleep pushing one button.
