Yeah i dunno, seems like complaining for sake to complain you get more exp so you no longer being level gated in MSQ. I'd rather get extra exp while leveling that being under-leveled.

I too would imagine that it isn't really fun to be lvl 80 when somewhere in mid Heavensward or ealy Stormblood or so.

Doubt that is the case if you simply stick to MSQ

You know what feels significantly worse? Having the story be interrupted every 5 quests because you weren't given enough exp from the quests.

I still remember FC mates having to do roulettes to be able to unlock and run Ala Mhigo. Meanwhile I reached 70 before finishing Azim Steppes because I was doing every sidequest

MSQ still autolevels you in most instances anyway, i don't see the issue with overleveling it.

All Duties (party and solo) are level synced anyway, so it's not really a bad thing.

My Happy is only doing MSQ and skipped some side content dungeons on a non preferred server with no XP ear rings and he is about 10+ ahead of when he did this same test in April. This is working as intended.

I feel like for someone interested in one job this could be an issue, but for people like me who would be interested in experiencing more then one job, this is great. Better then being forced to grind.
