4 hardcore trials, thats all the HC fans have also even the casual stuff is a joke that kids could do is there no middle gorund?
Honestly, I think there is less of a middle ground in FFXIV than in WoW.
In WoW, most raids are 10-30 player content while the high end is a 20-player content. It makes sense for there to be an alternative 5-player high end content. (Although I've also heard some complaints of Mythic+ becoming "required" for raiding.)
In FFXIV, the high-end content are 8-player contents, just twice the size of a dungeon party. And they're already having to reduce the number of regular dungeons per patch and not even have a deep dungeon this expansion.
If they're going to focus on a high-end content, it might as well be for 8-player contents rather than 4-player.
Also, as it is now, sometimes even contents like Extreme trials can be not as useful in terms of reward for Savage raiders or people who can have HQ crafted weapons. So a Mythic+ style content might also not fit as well in terms of reward structure.
And personally, as I've said in the past, there is also the fear of a trickle-down effect in dungeon design if this system were to be put in place. I like the current dungeon design in FFXIV and I'd rather it not change.
However I think that a staple of content that satisfys everyone, hardcore and casual alike can be made it just needs a signal from the players that it's desired enough for them to consider. I think that FFXIV has focused heavily into more lifeskill and casual friendly content over ShB lifespan and good though these new systems can be they won't hold the attention of the higher end players overall and I think that they deserve content to date their XIV needs aswell.
